We gave up paying high premiums years ago. Got tired of paying more for insurance just to have a friendly voice on the phone and a christmas card once a year.
I won't mention the direct insurance company by name that we use, but to give you an idea, our premiums are 48% less than the closest insurance-agent competitor (That being Allstate).
Well, on Tuesday at 3:30pm 03/23/04, my wife got T-boned by a hit and run driver. She was okay, but the SUV took $4300 worth of damage. At 4:00pm, after a police report was filed, our Direct Insurance claims number was called. At 4:15pm, they asked us if we wanted to take it to our own collision repair center for an estimate, or if we'd like to use their recommended collision repair center nearest us (In this case is was Auburn Collision). We were happy with the latter decision since we've never had to use a collision repair center, let alone insurance!
At 4:30pm Auburn Collision calls us (1 hour after the accident) and schedules an appt. at 9:30am the next morning. A rental car is already waiting for us when we drop the SUV off. The following Tuesday they call and the car is ready for us to pick up! Wednesday 03/31/04 (7 days after the accident) the check from the insurance company is waiting for us in our mailbox (Minus the $300 deductible) and we picked the SUV up that same day!
Unbelieveable service from the Collision center and the direct insurance company. Its good to know you're in "Good hands" with low premium direct insurance companies.
Best part is, our rates are not affected.

What?!? Never? Cripes, I have been involved in about a dozen accidents myself.

Rip, you know that they're going to try to give you back a Golf instead of your SUV and deny that your SUV ever existed...

Why wouldn't you mention their name?
