After reading the PETA boards, I must say that I thought my viewpoints were out there...but these people are abso-freakin-lutely off the political spectrum. I fear they may try to blow up McDonalds...

Ecoterrorism takes brains to be original and effective.
If a member of PETA tried anything of the sort, chances are they'd mostly likely drown/die in a fire/blow themselves up. PETA's good for scaring little kids, that's about it.

Peta people got us kicked out from fishing a local golf course. Yes we fished the golf course. To commemorate the event certain fishing types caught many micropterus micropterus floridanus, separated them from their heads ate the fish and sent the heads to peta in a stryofoam cooler via FedEx. I wish I had thought of it myself.

They're weak.
They're a symptom of a plentiful, unhindered society.
The day PETA vanishes is the day us meat-eaters have to start worrying about where our next full meal is coming from.
In the meantime, make fun of them, shoot them with paintball guns, but be glad we live in a time and place where people can complain about the type of food their nieghbors prefer.

That is a very wise statement, I am impressed.

Can't we just unt them and feed them to small hungry pound dogs that might be going hungry....then again that seems like a bad idea :D
-
I know this is a sensitive issue but, here goes...*takes deeeeep breath.
They think killing a cow and using it for food is the ultimate of sins but aborting a perfectly healthy/normal human fetus is AOK.
Whatever...

Cole discovers that a mental patient named Jeffrey Goines (Brad Pitt), whom he met in 1990, is an animal rights activist with a father (Christopher Plummer) whose laboratory may be harboring the deadly virus. Does Jeffrey want to unleash the virus, returning the earth to the animals? Or does his father, or another member of the team . . .

PETA Kills animals, you know.
As a matter of fact, PETA was the subject of last nights Penn and Teller's Bull*****.
Here's what I gleened from the episode.
If PETA had it's way, not only would you NOT be able to eat animals, we could not have them as pets, use them for testing in medical research or even use them AS GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND!!!
Some of the biggest hippocrites lead PETA. The senior vice president of the group, which is a tax-free organization, is alive today because of medication she regularly takes that is made from animal products.
PETA paid a convicted arsonist $75,000 last year. This person tours the country in the name of PETA talking to high school kids about animal rights and HOW TO MAKE INCENDIARY DEVICES!
PETA has neither condemned or condoned the acts of ALF and other terrorist organizations and some members went on camera last night and openly condoned violence against property and persons to bring their message to the fore.
Finally, though a weak point in my opinion, PETA paid $110,000 for a 10ft by 15ft walk in freezer last year. THis is a matter of public record.
Why did they need the freezer? To store the corpses of the 2,000+ animals they euthanized last year. This represents 2/3s of the animals PETA took in during the same time frame.

Untrue. Many PETA members are pro-life and PETA itself has no official viewpoint on abortion.

"They" was directed at libs/lefties in general, not at a specific group. Nice try though.

Diablo
I'm a lib/ lefty by most standards on this board, and I'm pro choice.
Oh...and I'm a hindu....and I eat beef.
Probably be reincarnated as a stone :)

In my experimental student days, I tried to be a vegetarian.
I lasted 3 days.

They are not the next ecoterrorists. They are part of the current batch.

They are fools. Peta thinks the life of any animal is equal to a humans. That is just plain nutty.
Just go check out the main peta site, you can dig and find it as part of their missions statement.
On the up side, most peta people seem to be grade schoolers or people with the brain of a grade schooler. There are very few people on their boards with enough brain power to see reason. Though most will be put through coledge by mommy and daddy and go on to devalue a dagree even more.
I think the FBI should take the kid gloves off and start treating ALF and Peta like what they are Terrorist and terrorist supporters, the first cent peta spends on ALF or EF they should be busted and go to jail.
-
12 Monkeys is an awesome movie.
and as far as this statement by Muck:
use them for testing in medical research
Thats really ****ed, we have several "humans" that could be substituted, and deserve to be, for the medical testing.

LOL I am the first to admit I can not spell! :D some of the smartest people I know live by spell checkers!
I thought there were two though ELF + Earth liberation front. AlF= Animal Liberation front?
Am I wrong here?
-
Last I heard, ELF does everything from those poor little germs you kill when you take a shower to those animals that are caged and killed for food. (They blew up a crapload of chicken livestocks a while back).
-SW
-
They are two seperate groups.
ALF (http://www.animalliberationfront.com/)
ELF (http://www.earthliberationfront.com/)
and both scum in my opinion. I support not destroying the envirnment, but they take it to far. They thinking taking it to far is the only way to make their point. They are wrong.

I do have to admit those were the most humorless people I've ever met on a bulletin board. They make Ripsnort look funny.
-
I always thought they made great sandwiches.
-
Hell they are more humorless the mormons!
