He was a Croatian and an American, like me. I had a feeling when I saw his name first but never followed up....
This is particularly touching to me after having to endure Hristo's, who is also Croatian, blatant and shameless defensess and apologies for these iraq terrorist murderers whom he calls "freedom fighters."
And as to what a real freedom fighter is, here are a few word from the pastor at his funeral:
The Rev. Edward Estok called Zovko a freedom fighter.
"We are called to live in freedom," Estok said. "We salute his sacrifice."
Jerko "Jerry" Zovko, may you rest in peace sir!

Turn it up Grun...security guards are freedom fighters now?

I was curious to who they were because I had done some reading on blackwater. They hire alot of foreign mercenaries. If it had been foreign mercenaries from Chile, you would not have got any sympathy from me. Foreign mercenaries are not my idea of "security guards".
"We scour the ends of the earth to find professionals – the Chilean commandos are very, very professional and they fit within the Blackwater system," Gary Jackson, the president of Blackwater USA, told the Guardian.
I do not call a hired gun a freedom fighter Grun. They do it for the money.
That being said, may he rest in peace.

That guy is more of a freedom fighter than the terrorists... What were they doing in fallujah? What did the news say? Oh yea guarding an aid convoy, the bastards..

That is something that really puzzles me. Why do they not let the trained Iraqi police do this? I mean, they would have a hard time saying they were fighting an occupying invader if they started burning and mutilating their own police, especially if they were from that city and it was an aid convoy.

Good point. But they would still shoot at them as "collaborators."
And frankly the terrorists main goal is to increse the suffering of Iraqi people, they have been killing and injuring and deprivig far far more innicent Iraqis than any sort of coalition or contractor forces. They would shoot at aid convoys no matter what because theyu know their power is gone the second things get better and Iraqis actually start focusing on living their lives rather than just surviving. The first step of that process was restoration of utilities last year, and the terrorists blew water mains up, and Al-Sadr terror gangs chased away aid technicians from trying to help his own people. The second big step is this June 30 handover, and so of course the fringe terrorists needed to start it up again...

The Iraqi police, in the cities that are at issue, have unfortunately been quiting in droves over the past week or so. In some cases actually joining the insurgents.

I thought the 4 murdered in Fallujah were escorting food supplies to the US base there?
