Title: XP repair???

Was wondering: Win XP all up to date, earlier I had posted about losing or having nothing show in network connections or device manager and now my disk cleanup hangs and won't work. Question is can I do a repair,  say install the last service pack over the top or how do you suggest I repair if it is possible. Or is a full reinstall the way to go.......... Thanks
