Hello all fellow AH nuts (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
I am looking for a new Stick to replace my rapidly wearing out Precission Pro, It's been a great stick for me and maybe for some of you to who fly with one (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
The thing is this... as many may know or maybe not it has 8 Buttons and a Shift thus turning it into a 16 Button Stick also has a 8 Point Hat which is great for in Aces..now i want to Ask All out there that may be able to help me ? Are there Any Sticks with a Few (lots would be better)Buttons out there just waiting for Kipper to get his Sweaty Hands on?? If anyone Knows Please Reply and if Possible give a few brief details as this would really help me
Have Fun All

ps. i have no usb at the moment but have a board on order from my nearest supplier, and also i am in the UK where by me there is very little choice in stores for sticks (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

I have been in the same boat.
Thrustmaster went belly up so there is little choice other than the CH lineup.
Saitek is ok but I have heard to many horror stories.
I will continue to use my MS FF PRO until a digital HOTAS solution is available.

I have a Logitech Wingman Inteceptor.
It has 3 8 pos top hats(really nice) throttle
4 base buttons, 2 finger buttons and a 2 pos switch under the trigger.
I have never had to calibrate it. I use the two pos switch for left and right wheel breaks. It has no rudder twist so i have a set of CHPro pedles. Combined the set up is less then $200 canadian. Highly recomended

Stay the hell away from Thrustmaster. guillmot or whatever they call themselves, don't stock parts for them. I just tried to get a hat and it's post for my F22PRO and was told they don't have that part available. Rather then offer to take one off an F22PRO on their shelf, ( they still sell them), they wanted me to send my F22PRO in and wait 3-5 weeks to get it back, all for a plastic hat and post.
I'll be moving to CH when my F22PRO dies. For now I've rigged it to work.

Jarbo and I are pursuing a unique solution to the problem...were building our own. It will be a floor-mounted model, with sealed, conductive-plastic (CP) potentiometers. The potentiometers will be set up with a two-to-one or three-to-one gear ratio to use as much of the 300 degrees of pot rotation. Between the gearing and sealed CP pots, it should all but eliminate the spiking seen in other analog sticks. The pitch and roll axles will ride on sealed bearings. The nice part is, you can take any off-the-shelf analog stick on the market and mate it to what we're building, and it will have the same functionalilty...just a smoother position response and finer sensitivity. We'll post pictures when the prototype is complete. I'll probably be topping mine with the CH Fighterstick, or the Saitek (not the Cyborg, but the other one). The main complaint I've heard about the Saitek is the poor quality of the potentiometers in it.

I was faced with the same problem when the stick stirring message first started. I asked mitsu what he used. He said a SW force feedback pro. This made sense, as the buttons are in the same place. You dont have to get used to new ones. It does not have a usb hook up. And the rudder design is far better than the pre pro. I use one click of ff, and centering just to get stick back to the middle. If AH ever goes to FF it might be a problem. But hopefully there will be a way to turn it off.

I have the F22 steup, but I am concerned about the long-lastedness of it. Thrustmaster products do not bode well long term.
I have a Saitek setup and gave it up because of poteniometer spiking alone. The stick actually functioned well otherwise. I really liked the ergonomics of the Saitek.
In addition to what Sabre said is that we intend to make the joystick outta STEEL, yes STEEL. (where ever possible) No sissy plastic for us!
I am curious how many people would be interested in a floor mounted setup
if you think ya might be interested (email me at jarbo9@iname.com).
