Title: Damn, been working out with one of the "lost boys"
Post by: Ripsnort on April 14, 2004, 05:06:46 PM
John is his name. Been BS'ing with him during our lunch workouts for almost a year now.  Never really talked much about anything other than excercise and weather, and finally I spoke of a co-worker from Eretria, and he mentioned he's a refugee from Sudan...then his story began....my God!  Here's his story told from another survivors aspect that I found on the web :

That's amazing, good story Rip. Gotta admire a guy like that and have respect for what he had to endure in order to survive.

My sister in law, her mother and sisters escaped from Sudan to the US in the mid eighties during the civil war. Just recently they got word that their brother had been killed back then.

By some strange coincidence, I wonder if he knew anyone from the : Nazmudin family?

Some real nasty things happened to a lot of good people over there.

Interesting story.

Glad to see the American Red Cross is on the job.
