Rafe, go to http://www.gunbroker.com

we deal guns through them everyday.

It is the ebay of guns knives and tons of other toys.

Edit: Also, I am sure you know about guns and I dont want to question your knowledge. But be careful about what you bid on... For instance. This guy is on absolute drugs....http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=17591362

He has a buy it now of 1400 dollars. Im sure thats not what the reserve i set at but atleast you know from the start what he is expecting/wanting to get out it this peice of crap.

Even ones that look "right" can be wrong. So ask as many questions as you can about the gun before you bid on it.

Here is what you should expect to find...    http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=17657006 This "looks" honest. It doesnt apear to be screwed with or even an armory rework. Which if you are going for collectability, an M1 that has been reworked by an armory will never be worth as much as one that hasnt.

PS- forget about ebay with guns. THey are getting tougher and tougher to sell anthing through when it comes to guns...

First of all, you cant sell "whole" guns though ebay.

I've taken a few apart and posted pictures in my auctions of the whole gun but just in parts... Ebay for the most part doesnt have a problem with this. Though they will reveiw your auction before it is seen by the rest of the world.

Here is an example of what I am talking about with ebay and guns...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3669426861&category=36258&sspagename=STRK%3AMESSO%3AIT&rd=1

Everything but the barrel is there...
This was going to be one of my projects until a sweet old 1911 came through our store that was built in 1915... It was carried and had some wear. But was just too nice to pass up esp for the price... 750.00 bucks... I'll getcha a pic of it if you guys wanna see it:D

I am an absolute Freak when it comes to 1911s.:D

I think that the one he has for sale is the IMB made with an Auto ord. reciever. for some reason they are off the charts in price.

You can not buy firearms on ebay, only non licensed parts... ie no lowers.  gunbroker.com is good, as are some of the others listed.  Just make sure you educate yourself before you buy.  I have over 20 M1 carbines in my collection which are going to be displayed at our museum after we work out the donation end of it.  The beauty of the carbine to me is its versatility, compactness, and durability.  Look for non-import (ie no new stamps after they were reimported, as said before, no rebuilds, and basically a piece that is not beat up, and is fully functioning.  Another key, especially in the case of Garands, but matchjing serial numbers is key to the value being up there.  All in all, it is a great thing to do, the M1-carbine is kickarse!

Ebay is very strict when it comes to handguns. The do however allow disasembled rifles to be sold. Although they state otherwise in their rules they do allow these disassembled rifles to be sold through them.

For example, check out the link I posted above to an auction I had about a week ago... This is a frame, it has a serial number... It is not considered an antique. After this item is posted, ebay reveiws the aution before it is able to be seen by the public. If it passes their requirements they let it through and the public is now able to bid. If it does not pass they notify you.

It is a fine line, and one that ebay draws themselves. It is also one they bend.

We need to be very careful what we put on ebay. One mistake could mean the ATF will be knocking on our door and pulling our FFL. Unless you are very knowledgeable of all of the laws involving firearm sales both state and federal, I dont recomend anyone selling like this through ebay.

I was trying to find M1 Carbine which my Uncle who was US Marines S/SGT during Korean War and was killed of car accident in May 1943 in California while he's half hour to the base.  So, my grandpa told me that he had M1 Carbine with him while before he was killed and he said they never gave M1 Carbine to my great grandparents, but Uniforms and full alot stuff in footlocker.  Now, Im planning to get my own M1 Carbine and probably put in my uncle footlocker.

So, Bodhi, I'll look up Gunbroker.com and see what I can do. Thanks btw. :D
