Hey All I am thinking of a good setup for CT Staff to do, I need opinions!.
I was thinking that they should setup a week for Battle of Bastogne, if they needed help for a MOTD I would be glad to help. You should have it where the Germans got their 190's and 109's against the P-47, just like it was over the Ardennes Forest!. The Allies objective is to capture many bases while trying to hold off the german Iron Fist from Attacking and Annhilating The Allied Air Force. Have it kinda foggy in the game for half the week. The other half of the week not foggy. Let the allies fly supplies to bases that are crippled and battered, but have the Germans Axis objective is to be preventing the Allies from re-supplying their bases. I think this setup would be cool. The plane Set should be the 109F-4 and the 190-A3 I think it is, against the P-47 and P-38. Anyway, this is a thought, maybe ya like it, maybe not, oh well, Can always try it! :) Cyaz In the Skies!

Dec '44-Jan '45 would be P-51D, P-47D-30, P-38 against 190A-5/A8/F8, 109G2/6/10. But I'll take the F-4 if your giving it too me. :)

Don't forget Spits MkIXs and XIVs, Typhoons, Tempests and Mossies

The FW-190D was also operational in several Geshwaders during this time.
-
Wasn't sure about the D-9 Lowe, but I'll take it too.

Hey Pei this scenario im talking about did'nt involve RAF Aircraft so... I don't know what you are talking about man. But Grits, umm... Lowe is right, thos ewere the aircraft flown over the Ardennes Forest, oh and another thing!, If your going to make this scenario happen, "I hope at least you do" umm.... give the Luftwaffe aircraft winter camo. That's total historical, yeah the P-51 and P-38 both were involved so add them, anywayz, I love thuis scenario, i tried it in an H2H game, everyone loved it that were in there, but anywayz, I think it'll be cool if ya do it. But hye, that's just my thoughts for a scenario, hop at least some of you guys like it.

I'm pretty sure the 109F-4, and I know for sure the 190A-3, were out of service by Jan '45. We could add the 190A-5 I suppose if the Axis side thinks they need it.
Anyway, sounds fine to me Ace, I'll take the F-4 if its offered as its my favorite 109 variant.

AcePappy.
I appreciate your efforts on this. As far as winter cammo for Luftwaffe aircraft. That was pretty much an Eastern Front thing where most of the fights took place at medium to low altitudes. The Luftwaffe in the West used pretty much the same paint scheme be it winter or summer. :aok
Also III/JG54 which operated in the West started flying the FW-190D in September 1944. The first kill by a III/JG54 FW-190D was on September 28th 1944 , when Hauptman Robert Weiss shot down an RAF Recon Spitfire.

Alright, yeah your right, now that i think about it .....Leave the winter camo out of it, but still run this scenario!! I want it! LOL! ;) Nah but I do hope this goes through, thanks for support lowe, Grits.

Ace,
If you will put it in an email to my attention (nicholsw@charter.net) then I will toss it up in our CT Staff forum and we will see what happens. The biggest thing I can think of right off the bat is a lack of a terrain for this area. We have the "Rhine" map but nothing that shows the area around the Ardennes itself.
-
Sounds like a fun setup. I am sure the CT staff appreciates the ideas. :) I am a "big" fan of the P-38. In fact our next Squad Ops starting on April 30th has the 38, 47 escorting B-17's over Europe. :)

I have found one that has the Ardennes on it but i'm new to the terrain editor so build the terrain will take some time for me unless someone who already builds them wants to take it from here. Is there any way to take the picture that i have of Bastogne and put it into the Terrain Editor this would help me in making this map if no one wants to take over.

Hey Reschke I will be looking over the Internet for the next few days for information and a map of Bastogne. I will even look for maps while at work on break or something, either way, I'm sure we could think of something, :)
