Title: I'm Baaaaack!!! But.....
Post by: AKWarp on April 18, 2004, 12:21:11 AM
Ugh!  Been a long time, but I'm back!  Now I'm having some probs...

Since I was on last I have started using Windows XP.  I have downloaded the new drivers and control manager for my stick/throttle/pedals.  I can't seem to program my stuff and get it to work in AH.

My hardware is all CH USB stuff (Fighter stick, Pro throttle and Pro pedals).

Anyone else using this setup?

I don't know if I should select Directx devices or use them as straight inputs in the CH control manager.  I tried straight input, programmed some views to one of the hats on my throttle and when I go into the game, it doesn't work.

I tried using the in-game stick mapping, but it doesnt seem to recognize any of my buttons.  I have the stick and throttle and pedals setup for the correct axies anfd all (I can fly around and all that, I just can't seem to program the other damn buttons!)

Argh, all this programming and in-game stick and key mapping...it's driving me nuts!  HELP!

I'm hardly the expert, but as far as I know you must have the sticks on mapped mode for the programmed buttons to work, otherwise it acts as a regular stick.

Off Mode- I never use, guessing it turns off all buttons

Direct mode- causes buttons of the sticks to act like a non-programmable button, ie trigger is A1 button.

Mapped Mode- causes what ever you have mapped to operate as you have programmed it.

I have never tried to use any in-game functions, I'd recommend downloading the CH Control Manager from the CH site here. (http://chproducts.com/retail/tech_controlmanager.html)  After you have downloaded your current map, control panel should list the 3 sticks as 'CH Device 1, 2, 3'.

You need the mapped mode if you want a complex profile.  I just use the default DirectX mode and program in game for AH.  You do have to assign each axis/button in AH.
