Very nice, personal interview with Franz Stigler. Don't know if it has been posted before, but here it goes...

The old warhorse is getting very old. Seems like his memory is starting to fail him, but I guess he must be pushing 90 so it should be expected. :(

I met him at the Warbirds convention in NC in 2001. Facinating gentlemen. Good sense of humor. Have a couple of signed prints framed up on the wall.
A very big man in his small statured body. It was a honor and a pleasure to meet him.

Was that the one where I met you? That was 2000, not 2001. I remember Stig and Charlie Brown being there. Also Gabreski, of course.

Beet, I'm gettin old I can't remember.
Leave it to me to hop on a plane, fly to the east coast ( I've never been east of Reno ) and spend four days in North Carolina either at the Con room, the smokin lot, or the bar at the hotel..
And then fly home..
I've been to NC. I saw a hotel ;)

Quite a story. Quite a man.

Interesting. I attended the 2000 Warbirds convention in North Carolina as a guest of FunkedUp. I live within 20 minutes of where the convention was held. I didn't know anybody there except for FunkedUp and fd-ski, and now it seems that many of the folks I didn't know from back then play Aces High. Funny how time marches on like that.
