Well the subject says it all...?
Cant wait for it to open over here...
-
Ya, saw it a while ago... pretty good flick...
-
Friday...tis good
-
Haven't seen vol1 or 2.
Was awesome.
-
Vol 2 didn't compare to vol 1, just not enough gratuitous violence to keep me satisfied.
That eye pluck though....... damn!
-
waiting, waiting...they always release films later here.

Only 3 times. It was good every time!

QT is a funny guy and I appreciate his work but I havent seen either of these films. I do wonder what Umas' scent and taste is like however. She intrigues me so.
-
I rented KB1 the other night. It was a lot of fun. It's a really violent film, but the violence is so over the top, it's like a cartoon. I can't wait to see Volume 2.
-
Not as stylized or as much fun as volume 1 but solid nonetheless.
-
Thought the first one was wayyyyyyyy over-rated.
Not wanting to see the second.

Ya i agree, seemed too cartoonish for me.

Well, expectations is a funny thing, i saw the first one expecting it to be a total crap-movie but i got pleasantly suprised...
-
It wasn't the expectations, it was the ultra-violence with no plot that I could see other than being the ultimate revenge movie. It was the first time I sat watching a QT movie and I absolutely couldn't wait for it to be over. By the time the 88's came into the picture I was squirming.
BTW, Uma has the ugliest feet in the history of cinema.
That "hot" school girl I swear was part Italian from her facial side profile.
Reservoir Dogs was much, much better on all levels.
-

Ya, i second this hehe! :)

You really cant compare Kill Bill with the other movies he have done... Kill Bill seems to be a kind of a tribute to old Samurai/Ninja/Karate movies, and you cant mix reality/realism into these kind of movies :)
You have to take it for what it is, pure entertainment... Like Charlies Angels only 1000 times better...

What's the betting we get a Kill Bill vol 3 where this blind blonde chick who's grown curiously immune to black mamba venom hunts down the daughter.........

Read in the papers that he wants to make Kill bill Vol. 3 sometime...
Hes gonna shoot some of the film now, and then let Both Uma and the "daughter" girl age and then maybe he will do the movie.
The daughter are gonna seek revenge on Uma this time :)
-
I wasn't trying to compare them. I was trying illlustrate that I was in no way entertained by KB1. Most disappointing to me was the lack of a real script. It was all a variation of
"Now, you will die."
"No, you will die."
"Bring it on biatch."
Which is pretty cool but not very subtle. Especially when the director has it on the "repeat mode" ad naseum.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't think the entire movie was a POS, the scene in the snow was one of the most brilliantly shot scenes ever (even IF Uma and Lucy weren't breathing out any steam in an obviously cold climate). QT is a mother of a director, he just underwhelmed me with this one.
If violence to the nth degree is your thing, then this movie is the Citizen Kane of action movies, which isn't a bad thing.

Hmm I heard about this part 3, but I heard it was going to be animated by the "ghost in the shell" studio.

Kill Bill is a tribute to Kung Fu/Karate movies and spagetti westerns. The dialog is the way it is for a reason. The music is the way it is for a reason. If viewed with this fundamental understanding, you begin to see the cleverness of the film. If not, you'll most likely see it as average (thus overated).
I like that Q pays tribute to the movies that inspired him as a kid. Jackie Brown was a movie that did this to the extreme. I really enjoyed that flick because of it.

I also appreciate that Tarantino casts classic genre actors in his films. It was great to see Sonny Chiba in Kill Bill, Vol. 1.

Well, crap! I guess I'll have to go rent the DVD of Vol 1 now, and make plans to catch Vol 2!
I was prepared to write this one off as another QT craptacular production, like the first half of "Dusk 'Til Dawn". Let's face it, DTD didn't become interesting until Salma Hayek showed up!
-
Cleverness does not excuse lack of engaging dialogue or character development, or any semblence to a plot (other than "Chick gets pissed, gets sword, kills everyone. Fadeout".). As a tribute I felt the movie would have been better had QT been subtle with it (such as when XXXXXX makes the comment about being a square, and then draws half a square with her other hand, a subtle throw back to PF).
This was just too over the top for me. I am glad some found it highly entertaining, and I did like a lot of the cinematography, it just seems to me that QT is too focused on getting the point of his "This is cool, isn't it?" vibe all through the movie.
I don't know, I'll probably watch in again in 6 months and declare it the best movie EV4R.

funny..I think KB1 was wakkkkkkkkkkkkkk
gay as hell..reminded me of Thin red Line..
seems liek quentin trying to hard to be "artistic"..reminds me of how we help pay for ..Urine in a jar with a crucifx...as art....boooooo
i wont be paying for KB2,,,
funny Pulp Fiction is good tho
havent seen Lady Killers..but heard it was bad...dam shame

Five point palm exploding heart technique. Damn good movies.
Volume 1: Action
Volume 2: Much more character driven, though not as much as Pulp Fiction.
I prefered the soundtrack in Volume 1 much more than Volume 2.
-
I think I liked volume 2 better, but it's really just one big movie, so I'll just say that I like it. I liked the soundtrack in the second one better too, but it was good in both.
-
I liked the soundtrack in 1 better also.
2 was definately different. Hell... Uma only killed 1 person. I did enjoy the movie a bit more and actually enjoyed the fights a bit more too.

Ok, saw Vol. 2 today and I must say it was an amazing movie. Everything that was missing in the first was brought out in this one. Uma did a helluva performance in this. I actually walked out of it wanting to buy another ticket and see it again.
"5 point exploding heart technique"
LOL, where does QT come up with this stuff?
-
No, seriously, seeing that eye pluch is well worth the price of a movie ticket. Everyone go watch this film now.

Ever heard of Fist of the North star?
I did think KB2 was a bit less violent for my tastes considering but I think the 2nd one was more story to it so that's why . I did enjoy the training scene with the Kung Fu master, that was hilarious.
If KB1 seemed too caartoonish it was because it was meant to be that way not only was it a nod to the things mentioned above but to anime as well re: japanese in schoolgirl uniform girl with a big chain and spikey ball, there's one reference to um :D
PS Ladykillers is an awesome movie I was laughing through most of the movie.
-
Finally got to watch Kill Bill Volume 2 last night.
Wow!!
It's a completely different movie than the first, it's not nearly as cartoonish.
Watching Uma get buried alive was especially intense... oh and the fight between her and Daryl was a helluva lot of fun.
I wonder if they'll come up with some sort of boxed set with both volumes. I gotta have it.
-
Both are excellent movies.
Lucy Liu should get a prize for her tirade with the Yakusas in Vol 1.
-
Loved both.
-
Great movies. The second gives the necessary depth to some of the characters.

Liked both alot. But I liked the second one a tad better.
