I tried beta 24 to and got the exact same error. First I thought it was becuase one of my pc is only 500 mhz with 64 meg graphics. But the tried it on another with 800 mhz with 128 meg graphics and same error happens. Both system has 256 megs of ram.

Ok i had this problem with Beta 24 after all previous betas had worked fine.
Dumped out with same messgae everytime.
My cure was to lower the resolution, i have always run AH2 at 1600 res but by lowering selection to 1280 i got in straight away.
Tried selecting back to 1600 and got dumped again, tracked it down for some reason to monitor hertz setting.
With previous beta i could run monitor at 85 hertz, with b24 it will not run unless i drop the hertz to 75.
At this setting 1600 x 1200 res works fine again.

Hmmm.....
Well tried setting refresh rate and res......
refresh rate all the way down to 60 (which is the lowest setting I have available.....
current setting is 1024x768 in windows refresh is at 100 (normal setting I get with optimal).
set AHII to every setting availbale for it with every refresh rate availble to it.....
nope no go still get the same error
:(

Have you tried deleting the video8.cfg file in the settings folder ?
Forgot to mention i deleted this before starting the game after adjusting refresh rate.

have had same problem since beta 19. i would suggest u call Hitech and let him or skuzzy walk u thru several things it can get rather extensive

Uninstalled beta 19 which ran fine, then install full version 24. Can't get it to run at all. I get a fatal exception error and stack dump and a text file to send to microsoft running WinXP pro Service Pack 1 and DirectX 9.0b 4.09.0000.0902 on a 3.0 gig P4 with 1 gig RAM.
