Anybody catch this on "The Learning Channel"? Last episode was about the Ford Motor Company's new sports cars that are coming out. They did a "behind the scenes" story of the development of each car. First, the 2005 Mustang fastback, then the Ford GT40, and for the grand finale the new Shelby Cobra! Wow, Ford is making things more exciting on the domestic front. Maybe that Bill Ford guy has a game plan.
I missed the last 10 minutes of the Cobra segment, up to where they were mocking up the clay body and test-driving the rolling chassis (sans bodywork).

"Rides" is on my very short list of must see TV. The Shelby episode was a good one, although i can't say i'm totally happy with the look of the new Cobra. The front end looks too much like a Neon for my taste. Would've liked to see them keep the rounded front fenders and flavor of the original grill.
That being said, Ford's designers are doing a heckuva job shaking things up. The new T-bird, the new Mustang, the GT and now the Cobra. The next few years will be great for car enthusiasts watching the companys battling out for the coolest look.

I kinda had the same reaction, but more along the lines of "it looks like a 350z bumper." It was interesting to see what the designers identified as the "signature features" of a Cobra: the fat fenders, the low hood vents, the taillights, the shape of the windows... and then they put it all together in the design studio. Still, I think it looks a bit too blocky. Maybe it'll grow on me over time, like the unmistakable styling of the Cadillac CTS-V.

if it weren't for the content, Jason would put me to sleep.....his narration skills are quite dull.
