Been doing this for quite a while..  was paying the 2 or 3 bucks an hour and some service fee back when AW was dos.   It was a great game back then but not much for visuals and the 14" screen was cut down with a black info panel..  

Still... it was a blast.  they went windows and made a pact with the most evil of all servers AOL so I went to dos WB..  Where Dos, and now window AW was light and kinda cartoony...  dos WB was kinda dark and menacing  really fun but tougher crowd it seemed..  

So, in all that time, from then till now... What was the best update?  

I think it was the 3d update..  that was the killer update!   Had to get 3d card or.. maybe even 2 of em!   But man... that was the night and day difference in online gaming.   I didn't even mind gertting shot down at first the effects were so unreal.   Anyhow.. that was the one for me.  nothing else has had quite so much impact as that first time in a 3d arena to me.

3d was big no doubt.

AH going pay for play was a milestone for me.  AH 1.02 when the rolled out the tanks was the first time I started playing at 10:00 pm and played till 6:00 am. What a rush!

AHHHHHH I still remember thinkit it was sooooo cool the day I baught my monster2 aceelorator card.

Then AOL said no more and it was Gamestorm.

GS was cool but I burnt out after a few years.  I remember when EA on AW made the plane dots look twice as big and the hit bubble twice as small.  People hated it.

Yeah, the year HT gave us CVs for Christmas.

Best update was from plain DOS to SVGA Air Warrior in '93. Added SVGA graphics, stalls, spins, blackouts, etc...

Being able to bomb toolsheds was the best update for me lolh :lol
