Title: can we have correct sized 20mm cannon pods for 109s?
Post by: Citabria on April 29, 2004, 12:37:55 PM
the 109s looks so awsome. could we have updated 20mm pods for them?

they have only the old ah1 beta 20mm add on pods wich look very wierd on the new high accuracy 109 models.

did i mention the 109s new models rock?

I imagine it will be some time before the masses of AH figure out which rides are superior in the new FM.  I guess it will take some time for me to sort out what to ride in.  I don't give a hoot what is on the side of the plane or what country it is supposed to represent, just which plane do I stand a better chance of getting kills and taking them home in.

I myself am not looking forward to the new game, it sounds like the learning curve will be quite steep, with gameplay much more difficult, off-line it didn't seem much different, just nicer graphics (which I don't care a hoot about).

Right now I need to spend time in AH just to get up to speed.

And I really find the AH1 to be quite frustrating, I can't seem to get my K/D past 2.5.

All in all I guess I just suck as a sim pilot, and my AH scores prove it :)

neg, takes time to get anywhere in this game. AH2 IMHO is AH1 with better graphics and better FM.

itll take awhile to get use to the new FM and figure all the little neat stuff out. Keep playin AH1, once you get that figured out, AH2 isnt reallly to much different, just afew new things.

Be happy. I usually start out a tour with a K/D in the order of 10-15 and end the tour with 3-5 ... THAT'S frustration. ;)

If we fix all the 109s, can we please add the wing pylons to the P-51D?

As long as you are fixing things, is it possible to do something to make the Spit shapes look better, in particular the tail.  It looks like it's a seperate piece put on it.  Kinda tough for us Spit fans to see the 109s looking so nice and the Spits not anywhere near as good.

Good time for that clipped wing tall tailed LF IXe don't ya think? :)

Spits only look good in flames.

Citabria is referring to the aircraft model not the FM.

Anyway if you are basing you plane choice on "easiest FM" then you will miss out on a lot of fun.

Take your fav plane up and stay with it until you figure it out.

BTW the G-6 definately looks good, prettiest plane in AH and the most fun to fly.

I agree with Batz on this one. Unfortunately Batz, most people dont want a challenge, they want the easy kill.

I think that what most people want is a satisfying gaming experience.

What makes for a satisfying experience is vastly different for each individual .  AH is entertainment.  I could be doing anyone of a thousand different things with my time.  I chose AH because it seems to be the best gaming simulation based on propeller driven airplanes.  If anyone comes up with a decent WW1 flight sim, I will be in that arena in a heartbeat.  I like wings with wires, open cockpits, weak guns, low horsepowered -paper-winged deathtraps.  My preferred fights would be a 1915 arena with  Fokker Eindekker  or Morane Bullets, or 1916 with Halberstads and DH2s.  Try those on and you will think a Zeke is a rocketship.  But there are no non-arcade WW1 flight sims other than RB2 )(which needs a outdated video card).  Man if HTC would do with a WW1 arena like they have the WW2 arena life would be bliss.

In the gang-bang or be gang-banged quake-like furballs of the main arena what do you take other than a airplane that suits your flying style?  It better be fast and have good acceleration, or a good turner   for all of those low on the deck knife fights where most people fly.  Most fights and most kills are less than 2k off of the deck.  So stay fast, avoid HOs  and you will live long enough for one of the good sticks in the game like Fester to send you home with your nuts in a paper bag.

I tried the CT, but being gang banged in the CT feels about the same as in the MA, just fewer people.

So depending on how planes in the new  FM in AH2 sort out, many people will gravitate to those models that work best in the furballs, and it will be the same, just different.

That may be due to what I think what most people find most satisfying in a gaming experience; being the shooter and not the drone.

BTW I love the Yak, it's just that I start out every Yak flight low on fuel and amost out of ammo ;)
