kind of an odd paint job, i was wondering if anyone has seen this plane and is making a skin. historical details are available. I think its a 'L' model, but I could be wrong.

"VIRGINIA MARIE"
This Lockheed P38J-14-LO was flown by Lt. C. Robert Anderson of 433rd Fighter Squadron, USAAF from the Boroka airstrip, Biak Island, Geevlink Bay, Dutch New Guinea in late 1944. It is the subject of the scale profile drawing in Aircraft in Profile, Volume 5. I don't know if these books are still in print but they are excellent reference books for modellers and artists. Original acrylic painting 16"x20" e-mail for purchase information.

"Andy" Anderson was very active in the 475th FG Association prior to his passing away some years back. There are many photos of his P38J Virginia Marie out there.
These profiles were done with his help for the book
"Fighters of World War II" by Charles Cain
