Title: AXIS Orders?????
Post by: ghostdancer on April 30, 2004, 03:17:49 PM: I and my XO (MGD) have not gotten any orders yet for the Axis side in the FSO forked tail devils.

If others squads got orders please send them to me at dgideon@dgideon.org.

Otherwise I know the general setup and the Nightmares will just wing things tonight (act like its an RJO night).

Will have to do an impromptu battle plan and play things by ear as they develop. Its way late for orders we are at T-360.

Going to be interesting to see how an improvised defense will do against a planned assault.

Post by: BlkKnit on May 01, 2004, 03:03:10 PM: well, we got instructions in the arena, but nothing prior to the event. It worked out, as Havoc filled in for shubie, but it would have been nice to know our orders ahead of time.

Post by: rshubert on May 02, 2004, 08:39:56 PM: But they were sent. Havoc got them, for example. I sent the orders out late wednesday night. As explained in the orders, I left town and went to Chicago to try to get a job. Sometimes real life does indeed get in the way.

I will resend them--just to test the system, so to speak, even though it is sunday night. Please acknowledge them, so I can figure out where I went wrong. And please tell me if you DON't get them.

Gentlemen:

Here are the orders for Friday Squad Ops.

Command Channel 150 text. All pilots should monitor 150 text for orders.

Birds Of Prey and Army of Muppets

Launch 2 scouts in Bf-109 G6s from 122 West to 6 row, Scout north and south in 6 row, Report enemy activity and PLANE TYPES (very important).

Launch balance of force in 109-G6s to the west, orbit near A128, await orders. Loiter alt should be above 30k

Rogue Squadron and Arabian Knights

Launch 4 scouts in 190A8s from 98 west to six row. Scout north, south, and west in 6 and 5 row.

Launch balance of force west, loiter near V172 at 30k or above.

339th FG

Launch BF-110G2s from A124, Loiter near A128 at 30k or above.

Gravediggers

Launch Bf-109G2s from 124, Loiter near a128 at 30k or above.

Nightmares VMF101

Launch Fw-190A5s from 124. Loiter near A128 at 30k or above

Fate

Launch Bf-109G6s from A96. Loiter near a127 at 30k or above.

III/abostaffel Luftwaffe ~ES~

Launch FW-190A8s from A96. Loiter near A127 at 30k or above.

Marine Air Wing

Launch FW-190A8s from A96. Loiter near A127 at 30k or above.

Sky Knights

Launch FW-190A8s from A122. Loiter near A127 at 30k or above.

The plan in general:

Flexibility will be the key. We have groups stationed at 4 points around the probable ingress routes. Everybody needs to be patient until the scouts tell us where they are coming from.

At that point, we will decide the attack location(s). I favor hitting them hard on the way in, and again on the way out. If you run out of ammo, land and get some more, then join up with friendly planes to make an ad-hoc attack group. Don't go in in ones and twos, the defensive fire will eat you alive.

A small group of fighters should attack the escort, and drive it away if possible. Then the rest of the guys go after the bombers. Use slashing attacks, from the front high (12 o'clock high, lol), and extend. Again, no onesy-twosey attacks--go in as a group and tear them up!

I may not be online during the fight, guys. I am interviewing for a new job in Chicago this week, and my stepson (i hate to admit this) is an apple freak. Not a single PC in the house. I will try, though. If I don't make it, Havoc will lead.
