Title: Best MP3 Site (Legal)
Post by: aknimitz on May 02, 2004, 01:41:49 AM
Hiyas Everyone,

Okay, Im ready to join and start paying to dload MP3s. I have done a bit of research regarding the best places, and so far I think I am leaning to Napster. Anyone here have any advice/guidance? I want to be able to dload new songs, quality songs, and of course am willing to pay both a monthly fee and a per song fee if need be.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Thanks,

Nim

I was checking that place out today.  Looks pretty sweet, although if I do it I'll go PayPal.  I don't really trust my CC# with many internet companies, especially offshore ones.

They charge by the MB you download, and let you pick your compression rate.  1MB = $.01 US.  So you're paying about 3-7 cents per song, depending on length and compression.  Their catalog is pretty impressive, too.

I've given up on Kazaa because it takes like 20 times to dload a song that doesnt have that whoopee SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECHHHHHH in the middle of it. RIAA wins, Im frustrated to all get out.

I use Kazaa Lite to find the rare bootleg stuff and obscure songs not normally obtainable (honest).  However, for some reason on my broadband ISP my dl's are reduced to about 10k - 20k (if I'm lucky) on avg. when it used to be around 100k avg.  I figured it was probably from the reduced amount of clients on it but even if there still is 4+ million sharing googles of files my speed should still be up there.  Any reason why it is so slow now other than that?

I would like to think how people like all of of us would find peace on this planet.  It can be done.  I hate the killing.

I've been using Musicmatch for several years, they came out with a buy-a song thing.. I have been using it. .99 a song. Works fine for me.

Yea, I stopped giving my CC to offshore companies when those weird charges for nuclear weapons started appearing on my Visa.

It was a sharp and noticible change from the porn I usually buy.
