Its great to see another historical based film coming out but Tom Cruise is far too old for the role. Besides, couldn't they have found a native RAF flyer to base the movie on?

Unfortunately, I fear this movie will be another Pearl Harbor, insulting and completely Hollywood.

I dont know what 'cruising' Tom is good for. But definitely not for war movies.;)

ummm.... one problem with using a "native RAF flyer", Cruise is playing an American Volunteer for the RAF...

LAstly, they have are calling for a lot of hardware, and what they are asking for is very specific and very accurate to the times.  Hopefully the context and accuracy is good!

Battle of Britain....already made in 1968.

Starred Robert Shaw etc.  Was a great movie.  Lots of original

aircraft.  I'm afraid this new more modern Battle of Britain will

be a let down.

Are there any Flying 109E's left? I sure hope they don't use those gawd awful looking merlin powered 109's.

I know there are some (UGH!) Spanish built 109s around flying, but it looks like there may only be one flying E model in a museum in Arizona:

as far as i am aware, that short clip is nothing to do with the tom cruise film.  Its an advertisement for an IL2 film i think, with interviews and film clips from the documentary that was on british tv called "Spitfire Ace".

I'd like to see a good Bob movie(what an amazing time for humanity)... I'd rather it was from an RAF pilot's perspective though as  they carried the brunt of the burden.

Those guys in that clip that were interviewd were also on the history channel in another show on the Spit. Could be same interviews or at least looked the same. Possibly they used them for Furbys show as well...It was very interesting listening to them. The show mainly was about the spitfire and not aces. If I remember right.

What a beautiful plane. I'd give anything just about to ride in one of those before I die.
