Title: Jap planes with Ho-5 cannons

Are Ho-5 cannons really that lethal in RL? It makes me laugh how few Ho-5 hits can actually bring down the macho blue birds (hellcats/Corsairs) in AH

Only one Japanese fighter in AH has Ho-5 cannons, the Ki61.

Rest have type 99 MkI/II cannons.

Ki-61s cannons are actually kind of crappy..  I think they rival the Mg151 for the "weakest cannon in the game" award.  They do shoot a little faster though.

I noticed Tiff and Tempie have two different marks of Hispo.  Is that modeled in game?

Yes.  Look at their gun loadouts in the hangar.

Yea, the tempests "hispano" is a lot closer to the mg151 than it is to the gun you're thinking of as a hispano.

I've always liked the Ki61's armament.  ROF *feels* faster.  I dont have a problem bringing anyone down with a few taps of the trigger.

Are the type 99s and Ho5s modelled differently in AH?
