If somebody tells Madden about this idea, they won't need a petition, he will do it. My sister worked for his son, I'll see if I can get a message to him.
-
Is it up to Madden to decide?
Not sure how EA goes about it.
-
Done.
And did you read what some idiot named Dave wrote LOL what a TARD.
Yes CPL Tillman in my mind should recieve every honor we can throw at him
-
I am sure they will do it for the shear fact that people will buy more copys of it. This is sick.

Yeah, I think he does pick the cover player.
-
lol Dave's comment was hysterical. Like turrets syndrome or something. :) I love people like that. Sooo psycho. But that's kinda what I like about it.
Anyways... I don't know what constitutes a hero. I know what constitutes a man. Tillman was a man. Aint a small thing - he should get the cover.
-
Another added benefit is that no one will have to suffer the Madden cover curse (http://sports.espn.go.com/espngamer/story?id=1594186).
-
He deserves the cover, and maybe make it a special edition with some cool stuff honoring him and his fellow service men, and women, on the DVD that can be viewed rather than having those game previews on it.

Yeah... EA always throws in a bunch of videos and other crap. That would be a nice alternative.

A discounted copy with all proceeds going to a good cause (http://www.lesttheybeforgotten.org/) would be great.
If they do that is another story.

True. Same with the nfl. I am sure they will take advatage of this man's death on repeat occasions this fall. It would be nice if they sent the profits made from it to a good cause, but i doubt it.
-
I doubt it myself.
Waiting to see before I form my opinion.
-
It would be nice to see a major percentage of the net proceeds going to Pat Tillman's family.
-
So a few people make a buck, so what, it's too good an idea to care about that.
-
Thanks for the link Sandy! I definitely added my comments (no surprise). ~S~!

I believe it's Ray Lewis (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=280950)

hawt and nba 2005 needs jason williams on the cover!

Though I do think Pat Tillman was a hero, I think its a bad idea. Football is football and Afganistan is Afganistan. Pat was killed in action in Afganistan and all this says to people who buy the game is that if you join the Army and strive to become a Ranger and go into action that you can get killed like Pat did. I think they should honor him some other way than through entertainment channels. Just my humble opinion.
-
I say leave the war out of my football game..
Tillman joined the army.. He did it under his own free will and died a soldier.. Note "a soldier"
I respect the man but propaganda has no merit on any such covers of EA titles..
Maybe "Americas Army" can have a special tribute to him but warfare has no business on the football field.. infact sports in general are a non violent way expressing our natrual warlike / territorial instincts without significant loss to human life / resources.
mankind has created sports and competition as an alternative to warfare.
To glorify warfare in the name of sports is a step backward on the evolutionary food chain...

Would have been better if there was a photo of him getting stiff-arm / pancaked by Eddie George in the playoffs:aok
