Title: Operation Husky CT Setup
Post by: Reschke on May 07, 2004, 02:56:44 PM
The morning of July 10, 1943 started very early for the aircrew preparing the aircraft for FAA 880 for the attacks on the air fields on Sicily. As the men of the HMS Indomitable readied to launch the Seafire's; final briefings were taking place in similar ready rooms all across the invasion fleet.

The men of FAA 880 paused just long enough at the door of the ready room for a casual observer to think they were having second thoughts. However in each pilots own way they were remembering those brothers in arms and friends who had died so that they could live and fight for freedom. Each man knew that they may not be coming back from this flight and understood that without sacrifice the battle could not be won.

Operation Husky showed just how fragile the Seafire was. Of the 106 initially deployed less than 50 survived the first 48 hours due to landing accidents and only 23 were serviceable when the operation concluded.

I understand about wanting the setup to change. I have been trying again for the last couple of hours and nothing has changed since this afternoon except for being able to get on here. If you see Jester or another CT Staffer in the game please direct them to my posts here. Thanks!

Ok things should at the least be managable for now.  I got the terrain changed and most the planesets in down.  I have left out the spit IX and Tiger since I wasn't sure where he wanted them.  I'm sure they'll be added soon enough.

This was a bit of a rush job on my part and if there's anything wrong please let us know and someone will get to it.

lame map.. malta is fps sucking pit from hell due to the useless cram-in of strat objects.

lame setup... bases too far apart except for malta (see above).

lame players. 8:3 and of course you have lamers like eskiblo and myelo vulching.

voting with my feet on this setup.

OK, I'm not taking sides, but do you think their might have been some harsh "words" exchanged that precipitated the said vulching incident? :D

Does that mean we won't be blessed with your "Sunny" personality and your "Rapier" sharp wit this week?

One can only hope.

Take Storch's advice and try IL-2 - you'll love it.

while i'm away, try and see if you can train your squad to do more than drive gv's, milkrun, and basically flounder around in the air without a clue.

or if that proves too difficult, you could do what you always do - abandon them and start a new squad. think of the copy/paste potential!!

Didn't know it was out of service Slash. The last few setups that I have run have had the TBM in them. Those were Second Wind, Slot 1943-1944 (Northern Solomons) and this one. If you are referring to the high altitude bug then I am not worried about that. I mean how often would someone take off in a TBM just to go up to 30k and fly like a rocket.

ya among other things my sig line once said "try IL-2 you'll be glad you did" because IL-2 is much harder due to a more realistic FM and DM.  it will improve your game in this training wheel set up.
