Thinking about starting to use it in both the Car and my new truck. I'm famous for going too long in between oil changes. With the amsoil even I will be able to get changed on time;) I've been hearing good things about it, but from people I don't know.
I trust opions from fellow flight simmers more than the average person....... Well unless its politics:p

I have been using Royal Purple and am very happy with it.

Amsoil is a fine product...not any better or worse than any other synthetic. Make sure your new truck is past the break in period before using a synthetic or you will prevent bedding-in. Also, careful with using a synthetic on a car with quite a few miles...it is possible that you can experience oil leaks. My general rule of thumb is that if the car has more than 35,000-40,000 miles and has not been on synthetic regularly, you probably should not switch.

I have a friend that uses Amsoil in his '64 Beetle and the thing is great. It comes out cleaner after 20,000 miles than my oil does after 3. He is using their dual filter system as well. I'll be switching to that system as soon as the funds allow.

good thread I've been thinking of trying it for awhile. the only thing holding me back is that while I've heard a lot of good things about it, all of the suppliers of these reviews coincidentally sold the stuff.
