I watched some of the hearings on the prisoner abuse thing on c-span tonight. he's the guy sent to investigate.
so whats with this guy? he'll never make it in Washington. when asked direct questions he gave direct answers, he actually even answered the questions that where asked of him instead of trying rephrase it into a question he was more comfortable answering.
how refreshing. something involving gov't where I see a guy I actually respect instead of just 'the best option available'. I don't know a whole lot about the guy or his past or really anything but seeing someone just answer questions directly without pausing to consider how it will be taken or who will be offended, it shocked me. then I thought about it and it disgusted me that it shocked me.
wouldn't it be great if a straight-forward, honorable guy didn't seem out of place in our gov't?

Hey capt. He's a soldier, not a politician. Perhaps that is a bit too simplistic, for you don't get to pin stars on your blouse unless you are somewhat a politician.

he must be fairly good soldier to get to that level while being the type of guy who speaks his mind openly and on the record. that kinda thing can really hold a guy back, in any field.
