I also don't think it's very funny that some dude got his head cut off.

I didn't see that post Grun, but here is what I have learned in my 39 years..... peope are going to screw with you just because they can. People on the internet could care less ( including you and myself) what others think about them and will post accordingly. EVERYTHING is relative.... no one is right or wrong in many cases.

This story gets more strange by the minute.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&e=1&u=/ap/iraq

According to his family, Berg, a small telecommunications business owner, spoke to his parents on March 24 and told them he would return home on March 30. But he was detained by Iraqi police at a checkpoint in Mosul on March 24. Berg was turned over to U.S. officials and detained for 13 days. His father, Michael, said his son wasn't allowed to make phone calls or contact a lawyer. On April 5, the Bergs filed suit in federal court in Philadelphia, contending that their son was being held illegally by the U.S. military. The next day Berg was released. He told his parents he hadn't been mistreated. His family last heard from him April 9 but it was unclear when and where he was abducted.

I dont know you all, but....

Reading that article, I have got a strange impression....

Like if the author was trying to imply....

something like, the victim being responsable of his death, or...

some.. uh... participation of the US "secret forces" in this atrocity....

The overall effect was disturbing.

Maybe I am just tired.

I didn't get that at all, from what I read is he was told to leave and didn't, then decided to leave and got detained. I find it odd that he would be detained for so long w/o being able to make a phone call or contact a lawyer. This was a guy that had once worked for the GOP national convention. His parents had to file suit in federal court because they could not contact him. What seems odd is that they are trying to get workers to go over there by showing large amounts of money, why would they treat him like that when they need workers? It doesn't seem to make alot of sense.

BTW, did you see the picture of his killers, they seemed FAT. Most of these terrorists cowering in holes suffer from malnutrition, these guys seem well fed, and the only fat arabs I ever see come from saudi arabia, you know, where the guys who actually flew the planes into the TWC were from. Just a thought.

sorry, got the impression you meant he was in the special forces

It does seem odd.  He goes to Iraq "looking for work".  He didn't have anything set up before he went.  He spent 1-2 months there not working, only to return to the US.  He then went back again.

Now the US says that they never had him in custody, only the Iraq police did.  The FBI questioned him 3 times while he was in custody about why he was in-country, and even had an agent question his family.  Apparently they told him to leave Iraq.

Anyone seen the whole video?  What's this about a 12-hour discrepancy in the timestamp?

==========================================

"Coalition spokesman Dan Senor told reporters that Berg was detained by Iraqi police in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul. The Iraqis informed the Americans, and the FBI questioned him three times about what he was doing in Iraq.

Senor said that to his knowledge Berg "was at no time under the jurisdiction or detention of coalition forces."

However, calls by The Associated Press to police in Mosul failed to find anyone who could confirm Berg was held there. The U.S.-led Coalition Provisional Authority runs Iraq, controlling not only the police, but the military and all government ministries.

FBI agents visited Berg's parents March 31 and told the family they were trying to confirm their son's identity."

Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to say there is this conspiracy or anything, it's just that the stories I have read just don't seem to make sense. Maybe it's just misinformation and story isn't correct. And I still point to those FAT arabs in the pictures, most of the terrorists I have seen are very under nourished and thin from living on the run and hiding. So either that of saddams old regime, or from somewhere else where they eat well, like maybe saudi arabia.

Well, I think because where it is the most frequented forum and they advertise for events at the top, that they would think that people might see these events and may actually decide to try it. And, of course, you need a sub to join these events. Then again, I could be way off.

No idea...

I'm wondering, for those who've seen it, if they think they'll ever be able to forget it.

in a day or so. A lot of people die in gruesome ways all over the world. Unless it's someone you know, there's no reason to get overly worked up about it.

Guys getting their heads sawn off, kids getting their limbs blown off, it's a crappy world we live in. Getting emotional about everything will just wear you down.

There's nothing like a French Press (is everyone OK with me calling it a French Press? I mean, the F word isn't very popular these days since they've been labelled as terrorist sympathizers and all)... anyway, there's nothing like a French Press for bringing out the essense of the bean.

Yeah... I can forget it. It's far less traumatic than dragging one of my kids to an emergency room.

Maybe you dont care....  But I found his self-praising irreverant attitude extremely disrespectful...

Thats not clever at alll.... It's sick and shows a total dirsergad and lack of respect for whats goinhg on..

Like I said...

A guy gets his head cut off,

Nash gets a cheap joke,

I think thats sick...

I apologize for the confusion and of course regret any damage or insult this error has caused to any and all totally innocent pots.

Like I said Nash is a clever little guy. Not only can he make fnny jokes about  a guy being beheaded he also makes funny drawings based on the absence of the letter "s."

Grun.. please. Are you saying you have never made a point using a dark subject in a humerous way? Jeez, son! You've called me a child molester just to prove one of your silly points. I know it's a long drop but maybe it's time to dismount that horse.
