Battle of Britain
Early war desert (i.e. pre-Spit desert)
Mid-war FinRus
Oddly enough, most of the Pacific setups.
Un-favorites:
Anything (except for BoB) with spits, especially spit 9s.
Anything post-1945

Umm, can't remember which ones I like and which ones I don't.. :)
Here are some I like: FinRus Winter, FinRus Autumn :D, BoB, France-setups (both early and late war ones). There have also been some very nice Med and Pac setups, but can't remember the ones I liked the best. ;)
Dislike: ... can't remember anything I strongly opposed, I've been able to play most of 'em. Hungary (late war VVS-LW) sort of comes to mind of the latest setups... and Soccer War.
-
american v german
small map, no ships
no base capture - keep the milkers away
and even numbers
-
Dislikes:
* PTO and Eastern Front
I actually like the fights and implications of these fronts, but the limitations in planesets means that no matter how much the staff changes the scenery, it's always the same planes vs same planes. I'll certainly be enjoying it more if some more gaps are closed in the JP/VVS plane set.
* Western Front featuring multiple Allied forces
Something like {USAAF+RAF} vs LW - against an assortment of all the turners and dragsters gathered to the Allies, the LW has to fight with essentially two plane types. Having to fight a clog of P-51s and Spit9s, Hurricanes and Typhoons in one sector, with only a 109 and a 190, is really a nightmare. (Besides, couple that with the typical 3:2 Allied advantage in numbers, it really gets tough).
..
Anything other than that, I like.
I especially like BoB of 1940, and Mid-war North African/Mediterranean setups.

109G10/190D-9 much very nice Yak-9U and La7
My distaste for them comes from the fact that I cannot fly the 109G10 to save my life, simply put I'm REALLY BAD with it (worse than usual). I find the 190D9 boring to fly, perhaps it's because I don't fly it well but it's apparent lack of manuverability just makes for boring fights for me. I really enjoy the Yak-9U, but with the la7 present it seems to pretty much garauntee the LW will be vastly outnumbered nearly all the time. And if I want someone to shoot at without having to argue with teammates over who's gonna kill them I end up spending the week flying axis in planes I have no skill in and little desire to learn.
I do enjoy mid-early war LW rides though. :)

Seeing the diversity of peoples likes and dislikes, I hope you all understand the dilemma the CT staff have in making scenarios that pleases most.
I'm glad to see this posting however; it gives us all a good idea who likes what...
Now that we have all posted like/dislike setups, what is it about them that gives you that opinion:
I.e. I don't like PTO because there are not enough proper IJN aircraft or the setups never have F4U's in them.
I.e. I don't like BoB 40 because the Spitfires dominate the setup...
Sound off guys!!!

Is it possible to get a hint of recognition from the CT staff that the Post WWII is strongly disliked and to be avoided? Just a a little tidbit of information, but one unnamed pilot only had 7 sorties in the Independence War after 5/01/04, yet this pilot seemed to be the driving force behind the setup. I hated the setup, did all I could to avoid it( the MA really isn't another option) and still ended up with 7 sorties in the same time period. What's up with that?
This hijack, well placed in my mind, is over.
-
Dislike: current set up, BoB is a snorefest if you not flying LW,(odd that I liked the BoF though) didnt care for Finn/Rus every few weeks but that no longer seems to be an issue. I kinda miss it actually.
Like: Most of the Pac sets(even Second Wind:D ). Late ETO stuff are always fun. I really liked Kurland. One of the best IMO.
Speaking of Pac, when do we gat some blue planes staffers? Or run Norway:aok

Tell me your kidding!! 7 sorties for the guy who wanted that crappy setup??:lol Figures

Depending on refuels ... that could be seven days of flying at however long it took to die each time. What's his kps? Kph? Even that may not give you the entire picture (you desire).
What does it matter anyhow? I've had that rare and elusive F4U-Pac set come around with me having to spend more time in a meatball plane than a hog ("having to" meaning I was willing to sacrifice my own preference within the set to help counter the "Well everybody always flies the blue planes!" whines). I've had them come around and I couldn't fly much that week at all.
The Israeli Independence setup will undoubtedly come around with much less frequency (probably once a year - OMG! OMG! What a tragedy!). But hey, PAC has it's diligent protesters too, so why not? Heh. Depending on one's own PERSONAL preference, you may hear either "THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!" (even if it's only 5-6 players - some of which have a REGULAR habit of sitting out anything but their one orgasmic setup) .... or .... "The forum isn't truly reflective of the entire CT populance."
Basically, what's really the point in whining about it? Is it to keep the setup from coming back next year on it's anniversary? Perhaps the half dozen players who don't like FinRus should maintain a campaign against it based on whatever it takes to convince everyone else that nobody played it or had fun. :D
Here's the raw essense. If ya can't handle it, deny it:
People flew it - people had fun (just like in Second Wind) ... get over it already.
Just sayin'. - YMMV - don't take it all personal like - don't mind me, I'm just talkin' sense.
-
Hmm looks like Arlo chewed through his muzzle.:D
-
It's like I can still sense the whining going on, even when I'm away from the pc! :D

You get over it first. If it's just a bunch of whining hot wind I'm at a loss as why you pay so much attention to it?? Can't you just get back to your "getting a life" thingy?
-
First
I've started this thread acually to show one simeple thing:
We are very different people:
Some like PTO some hate
Some like Early War some hate
Some like Eastern Front some hate
Some like non-WW2 some hate
Some like Late War Europe some hate
Second
This poll is not the set of all CT players opinions but ony part of them that post at BBS. (Most of AH players do not even visit it regulary).
So this poll shouldn't show what setups should be present at CT regulary and which not. Because the people that post at BBS can't show that majority of the CT players - because there are difference between players that use BBS and do not use it. (Lots of my friends just do not like to be involved in long discussions at BBS, but they fly regulary at CT).
So I don't want to see it like prove that people like/dislike sertain setups and that they should be ignored/used frequently.
Third
Lets be more tolerant to other people preferances and reduce amount of non-nessesary noise at this BBS :aok

So what we have here is some sort of philosophical "cart and horse" or "chicken and egg" thang in your eyes? Heh. If a whiner whines deep in the forrest all by himself is he really whining?
Not "getting a life", junior .... focusing on it more. But you're not expected to know the difference. You'd need an actual point of reference to do that. Forgive me for falling back on my old habit of teasing you to make you cry harder. Must be kinda like cigarettes or booze. It's not "good for me" but it does bring some satisfaction. I may slip and do it again, even. Got tears? :aok

Insect,
would you please stop quoting that pinhead, otherwise I shall be forced to ignore you as well. I'm sure that would be more than you could bear. He'll be back soon enough. let's enjoy "pax arlona" while we may.
BTW you've been conspicous by your absence. we need better dedicated allied opposition in the CT currently.
Bring the 880th back to the CT.

Storch,
Don't be mad at Buggy for your having to live in his shadow now as the second whiney banana of the group. ;)
(Don't worry - you'll get to read it in a quote) :D

Storch strolls into the O' Club and orders a scotch on the rocks. takes a swig and addresses the present company. "We need to encourage our allied bretheren. while the zany antics of the 312th can be annoying for some they do at least show up every day.

What vintage? My daily driver is an '82 Toyota Diesel DLX longbed. It's got 52HP and will only go 65-70 MPH wide open on totally flat ground, but it gets 50+ MPG. :)
-
'99 Tacoma booger green 2.4L gasoline and will do 115 all day long if the bed cover is on. if not about 100. I've put 162k on it already and It never says die. This is my second toyota and they are awesome.

Hehe Storch, one week of an insanely crappy setup and one week of insanely too much work has kept me out of the CT. I should be back into making your CT existance miserable soon enough :)
Don't ignore me 'cause I don't want you to miss out on my new trial membership to the He-Men Arlo-Haters club. Every new member in the Month of May shall get a free pair of Arlo's panties that have been unbound from his bellybutton crack.
