Title: Movie:thirteen
Post by: DiabloTX on May 12, 2004, 07:38:33 AM
Rented this along with The Cooler lastnight.

Jesus...you guys that have daughters about to turn thirteen have my sympathy.  All through the movie all I wanted to do is smack the parents.  Tell me this isn't normal Cailfornia child rearing?  I know its only a movie but still....damn I had to take a long shower after watching it.

Nothing these thirteen year old girls did was even remotely entertaining or exciting.

The whole movie just left me feeling like I had been dropped into a vat of feces.

Rent the movie "Kids" if you really want to feel creepy.

I saw it a few months ago.  enough to make your flesh crawl.  I wouldn't say it's normal child rearing but it isn't uncommon and you don't have to go to california to find it.

all you gotta do is find a parent whos main goal is to 'be there kids best friend', or 'make sure my kid has all those things I wanted but my parents denied me' , or a divorced parent who is more concerned that the kid likes them best than if the kid grows up to be a decent person.   none of these types of parents are in short supply these days, ?I hope they aren't the rule, but they sure aren't rare.

let me get this straight;

After seeing this movie one does not want to have children or does not want to become a parent

mostly the parents.  but also some influence from other kids but that would be theresponsability of those parents.

Why, of COURSE that's normal California child rearing! Don't you know all us Californicators are liberals who hate America? What better way to destroy that which we hate than by raising a generation of moral degenerates? It's all part of Hillary's grand scheme... Every kid raised in a Godless home without supervision is one more future Democrat.

Sheeesh man, don't you know that? Between Ripsnort's cut-n-paste jobs and the Republiclowns you'd think you have learned that by now. :rolleyes:

You're the guy who sees "the evils of liberalism" wherever you look. Just trying to set you straight on how morally bankrupt Californians are- you'd think after 15.000 anti California cut and pastes by Ripsnort you'd know that. ;)
