For once and for all moslim doesn't meant terrorist, i work everyday with em (turkish people) And they shame for terrorists that call em self moslims.
Again fanaticy and terrorist does have nothin to do with the bible and koran.
Both where used for terrorism and murderer It doesn't make christians murderers as well moslim murderers.
Maybe we forgot the spanish inquisition and the ira all in the name of God.
no bible or koran is saying we should kill people.
it's the people who fk up all the time.
divide and conquor it's the same old story.
believe is a great tool for that.

Just wanted to add, living in todays world with the events that are ongoing, I can understand completely why atheists slam religion, and why more and more people are turned off to religion.
-
i turned of religion although i am catholic.
the important thing i just doing good and u will recieve goodness.
respect eachother
and paradise is on earth we just have to make it.
-
I'm pretty sure God knows who is rightious and who isn't...Whatever label your brand of religion has.
-
I've said it befor and I'll keep saying it again. Religion is not God's doing.
Religion is an Idea created by man to be closer to God. Christ was Flesh and blood created by God to be closer to man.
At least that's my view. I sarted to go to church again after I found a really good non-denominational church. Its a festive place that makes me feel good about myself when I leave there. Too many people today mourn their faith rather than embrace it. I think the same proves true on the other side of the spectrum.

Well said Ripsnort. Sadly the religious fanatics get more and more people too.

God is just the personification of society as a whole. The real enemy is not religion, but ignorance.

I'm not sure I understand the question....pop shots? As in holding elected officials accountable or actually shooting at them?

Is it one of those where people jump around waving snakes in the air, and others lay down on the floor and jerk around and speak in tongues? That would be festive ...

(http://www.spymac.com/gallery/pics/smilies/arrow_left.gif) atheist, and proud of it

No but instead of a somber choir there is a band....guitar drums and such. Alot of people are really HAPPY about going here. It is alot different than what I've gone through in the past. There's no real "dress code"
Like I said. There's not alot of the hypocracy that I've seen on other churches. No snakes no jumping....some hand waving....alot of singing. Just a real festive place.

I don't think spirtituality (or lack of) is something that one should be proud of. It's rather like being proud of the color of your hair.
I am an atheist, but it's not something I'm proud or shameful of. I may say disparaging things about religion, or certain dogma, but in the end, it's not a comment on the people that believe it. For example, I think scientology is a load of hooey, but that doesn't necessarily mean that all scientologists are gullible or stupid.
Whatever gets you further on your own path is fine. I may not agree with your path, but that's okay. I have my own.

Im proud of my decition to be an atheist just like im proud of beeing norwegian. One should be proud of where one comes from and what you belive in as long as you don't look down on others and their choises. If you are proud and humble at the same time, you are on your way towards harmony with the rest. Whatever you do, never stop questioning the things that goes on around you.

BUG_EAF322,
Your a simple naive person. Ask the Armenians or Greeks about the Turks...can you say "millions of Christans murdered, starved and enslaved." Go here to read about your peace loving friends:

Man, if I was Norwegian I'd have like a cool statue of Thor in a corner of my house and like TOTALLY worship him and stuff cuz he was like a TOTAL bad ass. He could just LOOK at people and kill them or use that TOTALLY bad bellybutton hammer and smash their heads in. Yeah, Thor would be cool to pray to.
PS - Loki was framed and Tyr should have never put his arm in that dogs mouth...I mean STOOOOOOPID, HELLOOOOO????

Hi, my name is Diablo, and I can't stop thinking about Vikings.
Vikings are mammals. Their main purpose is to totally flip out and kill people. Vikings are awesome. I once heard that a Viking grabbed a villager and tore his head off, then reached into the body and pulled the heart out through the neck, just because the guy looked at him.

Unfortunately, to a lot of "true believers" what you're saying here is heresy. It's a human judgement intervening in the divine ways of God - you're not allowed to do that.
The Church and its form of faith is the only way to reach to god, and it is what God has created himself they say. The Bible are all his doing(and strangely they seem to hate the thought of the guys who actually wrote those words, may not actually have been 'perfect'). They also say there is only one way to salvation, and no other path - all other religions might hold a certain reflection of the light, but ultimately will avail naught when it comes to salvation.
Why? Why is that?
Well, apparently I'm not supposed to ask questions, either, or seek "reasonable" answers - as "reason" is a human thing, and God doesn't contact people that way(at least, according to 'them'). They say one just 'knows' when one confronts God. The inner intuitions are how he commands people, and thus one must obey to it, rather than ask questions.
...
But then again, those people are also the same people who say the rest of the world, about 75% of the population who were all outside the Mediterranean world, thousands of years ago before missionaries, are all burning in hell because they never had the chance to accept Jesus into themselves.
I guess you can't really take those guys seriously - they're obviously out of their minds.
...
Sorry for the cynical twist, but the day my sister turned fanatic, I called it quits with organized religion. If that's how somebody is "saved" then I'd rather not be saved at all.

oh it's dutch spelled my mistake

My understanding was that a person who practices Islam is a Moslem, and a family, group, or organization dedicated too Islam is Muslem. Isn't that not incorrect?
