that President Bush is directly responsible for the death of his son and the terrorists who killed his son are probably just as bad as the Bush administration.
His son went there of his own free will and wanted to do good work in Iraq for the benifit of the Iraqi people. His father has disgraced the goodwill of his son but.......Grief makes people insane and say stupid outragous things. Go easy on him Lord.

I am personnaly sick after seeing the whole thing, I feel sick to my stomach and probably need a valium or two as well to cope with those images. I did not ever know Nick Berg but he reminds me of my son in a way, or the guys his age that I currently work with. Nicks dad is not responsible for his statements, they are statements of rage and disgust and soul searching and asking a higher power why this would happen to his family. I cry for nicks father because he was forced to see those images by the media and a desire to come to terms with it possibly. He has become a man I hope I never have to be, a man who was forced to watch a family member be executed on TV basically.
Nicks father has the right to be angry with anyone he wants including god almighty or whomever else.

Speaking of going to hell.
Mz you peaked too soon. Never before IMO have the denizens of a webboard more deservedly earned the plague of Kaybearjr.
Oh. to stay on topic. The poor guy was in Iraq to just make money. He wasn't an angel of humanitarian aid. Let's not "Private Lynch" the guy huh?

Am I the only person who has imagined their own child being in Nick bergs place?
I mean, I had a mental image in my head earlier today that literally made me sick to my stomach. If I withnesses something like this happening to my daughter, I would literally kill myself as I could not live with the mental agony.
Anyone else having a problem with this or should I call a shrink?

Dont sweat it Muck, it will pass -just let it slide into time a bit and a larger less viscious perspective will come into play. Trust me.
Westy, apparently the guy has done good things elsewhere and besides money had other motivations, apparently....trying to bring technology to backwards struggling places like africa and iraq made him feel useful in this world.

.S. intelligence officials have concluded that terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was the person shown on a video beheading an American civilian in Iraq, based on an analysis of the voice on the video, a CIA official said Thursday

I know a guy......He actually does this military kill stuff for a living and would probably stand straight for days to get a chance to kill the viscious bastard. Can we send him insetad westy? would you really even care, or even be offended by the thought of a US military man killng a visciouss headslicing murderer of tied up defenseless men on behalf of your country?
Would you even care........
Let us Pray

Amazing...
People choose to view this atrocity, then complain about getting sick about it. I'm not going to watch it, don't need to watch it.
But is it not ironic that the media is permitted to show us this civillian being killed, and yet we can't even view images of our soldiers respectfully at rest in flag-draped coffins.
I just find it interesting that those on this board that oppose the liberal media at Dover AFB are so ecxitedly doing internet searches to watch a public beheading. What about respect for Mr. Berg and HIS family?

I haven't viewed the video but if it were my son I think I would.
I think Nick Berg's father should be given a pass on all that he says in the near future. I'm not saying he won't have legitimate and thoughtful things to say, just that if he says something outrageous that his circumstances should be considered.
I can only imagine the pain he feels.
-
Yeah for sure give the poor man a break.
not only did he loose a son but he lost him in a very public and horrible manner.
-
"Oh. to stay on topic. The poor guy was in Iraq to just make money. He wasn't an angel of humanitarian aid."
Agreed, and I hear he was asked to leave and given a ride out?
Blame the ole mighty dollar not the President.
Americans in that country know they are a target by these groups.
He made his choices as sad as it is.

Actually, from the article posted in another thread, he feared that his ride to the airport might get ambushed as that seemed to be happening a bit (RPG ambushes). Supposedly, he was trying to make his way to Kuwait to get out of there.

Maybe his dad should accept his Darwin Award sure to be awarded at this year's conference. Lets see, an AMERICAN of JEWISH descent going into IRAQ with NO CONTRACT looking for work (Shalom, I'm and American, can I build something for you?) held by IRAQI POLICE then DECLINING a trip home offered by the FBI... not saying he deserved what happened but he damn sure made alot of downright stupid decisions which lead up to this horrible outcome.
Sure, its all Bush's fault.

I find it ironic that the act of the beheading has some of us saying, "Let's kill the sick bastards!!" which isn't too far from what the terrorists were saying about us in the video.
I am for finding these worthless ****ers and bringing them to justice.
Let's not just resort to "Let's kill 'em!" because you are mad and outraged. I am too...but I'd like to think we can do this in a civilized manner befitting the USA.
Just my 2 cents.

Heard something a few hours ago that was kinda weird. Either the news channels are reporting intardnet rumors as fact or this may be a case where fact is stranger than fiction.
Supposedly the 911 terrorist who didn't get on a plane, the guy that got caught, had used Bergs email address for a while when Berg was in college. Berg gave it to someone then someone gave it to this guy. Something like that. I'll search it.
-
I heard it to lizard,
Had his email addy and pw...
A jewish guy wondering around Iraq, links to 9/11 suspect, kidnapped and executed by a high level al quada operative after being detained by the US / Iraqi police at a point in time when the US has a real bloody nose over the prison scandal and on top of that his Dad is BOOOSH h8tEr.....
Where sixpense? I hear the helicopters for real now.....

Heres the story

Gotta go...low flying copters over my building...

This is all I found so far:
"He'd made some contact with Arab kids at the University of Oklahoma - that's what the FBI was checking into...a guy from Oklahoma," the source said. He said the FBI wanted to know if the Oklahoma connection was "why he came over here."
He said the Oklahoma contact was "related to somebody who was involved in 9/11." But he didn't know if that person was jailed al Qaeda supporter Zacarias Moussaoui, who attended the University of Oklahoma close to when Berg was there in 2000.
Hollinger said he knew Berg had attended the University of Oklahoma and made friends with some Arabs or Muslims. He made friends with people from every culture and religion. "He told me there was some type of identity mixup - either with ID or e-mails, something along those lines," Hollinger said. "He said he was contacted by some prominent officials."

You were kinda setting up your own "conspiracy" by claiming they murderers we too fat to be al quada and suggested they maybe Saudi or Kuwaiti....
I figured if something like body weight was enough then all the above are enough to really get one rolling....
-
Look, he just saw his son beheaded as the world watched. Don't you think he'd be a little upset..????
Is it so important now to 'slice and dice' every word from the man...????

There was a post here months ago about arab countries funding al-qaeda. How they war against us w/o implicating themselves, and everyone seemed to agree with that. But now all of a sudden it has no relevance? Now that they have targets right next door to them they are going to stop doing it? And yeah, i'm sorry, those guys do not look like they have been hiding in caves living on boiled sheep heads. They look like fat saudis who eat very well. How many 9/11 hijackers were saudi? Would this not be an indication of the make up of al-qaeda?
-
His dad is a pretty strong anti war activist. After losing his son he's gonna want somone to blame.....its part of the greiving procsess.
