This one in the price of gas thread is pretty representative of his style, I think.
Of course, I do believe Skuzzy should take some sort of action on this type of behavior, as he has done with others in the past.

ROFL! I thought it was at the coffee shop in Wells, just as I solved a particularly tricky crossword clue - the one about the fishwife?
-
Beet1e has had lots of quotes in here... wouldn't be fair to name so over the others. God bless the Brits. I love 'em, which means I love Beet1e too....even though on some days I'd like to wring his neck.
-
I have never really liked AH gameplay
-
"All You Need Is Love"
-
I think those coffee shops moved westward to England, and beet1e will soon be carrying an illegal .45 mag while in aura of paranoia.
-
Is there a prayer thread to go with this?
-
Here's my favorite Beet quote:
I admit I was wrong.
-
Let us pray.......
Dear lord, please forgive this beet1e guy. Although he is neither John, Paul, George OR Ringo, at least give him the strength to realize the Beatles are indeed never going to "Get Back" for a reunion.
Amen.

Dr Smoke and Mirrors is re-configuring the truth, somewhat imaginatively. :p Alas, it was while strolling. Heaven knows what you were thinking at the time. :D

Yeager - you're probably right. I doubt there's a place called "Heaven", and so when the two remaining Beatles snuff it, a reuinion is unlikely. :aok

Is there another beet1e that I don't know about? :lol

You have to admit, it would be an instant classic. His most memorable quote.
So, now instead we have this one, where he swallows the hook, line, and sinker:
Toad:
Here's my favorite Beet quote:
"I admit I was wrong."
Beet1e: "LOL - I never said that." :lol
[/b]
THAT is now my favorite Beet quote. His congentital inability to admit he was ever wrong, self-confessed.
It simply doesn't get any better.

Yes, and you would too. Wells is a fairly small town, but it has a Cathedral, which makes it a City by the English definition.
Wells Cathedral (not quite 1300 years old - sorry Grunherz)

No no no! I have the ability to be wrong, just as you have the ability to crash a plane. It's just that neither has ever happened yet. :)
Obviously, in your case, I'm talking about a real plane and not a virtual P47D30.

Well, there's my "runner up quote. Thanks, Beet.
You're like a guy struggling in quicksand. It'll be up to your nose shortly. ;)

It wouldn't happen. As he will tell you himself, he's never wrong. ;) The truth is behind the smoke and mirrors. :)

I'm a Bohemian artist.:D I have the time to spend 5 months etching plates.
It's one of my etchings that I've been working on during the last 2 years. That was the first one I completed. Never thought I could do it. Hadn't done an etching in 13 years. I was worried.:) Am doing a series of four!!! Figure about three years to complete the job.
But I've been a professional artist for 25 years. It ain't easy.

Tomato, I think you'll agree that I have generated his most memorable quote. What's my prize? ;)

If it was me Toad, I'd give ya a hundred dollars. But this ain't a competition.

can you use your etching skills and make a million dollar bill for Toad? That would be cool, but I would not recommend trying to spend it at Walmart...they catch on fast over their :D

I might just have to award you first prize, Mr Toad. Apart from the fact that he's never said it. Curiously, though, what would you like the prize to be? ;)

Well, he didn't say it, he wrote it. But that's still a valid quote by definition.
Unless you have caught the disease from ole Shifty himself, that is.
I leave the prize to your creative imagination. Whatever you decide is fine.

When did you ever 'hear' him say anything, Mr Toad? :) Yes, to catch an old shifty, you have to be an old shifty. I've learned a few lessons. ;):D
Now, as to the prize. Toad is neck and neck with Toad. Is that all you lot can come up with?! :lol:p

assuming he has a traditional sized nose for an brit he should be able to handle breathing through his mouth till the cavalry arrive and shoot him with a crossbow.

Toad can probably make a million bucks a lot faster than I can. He doesn't need a million dollar bill.
Why don't you speak for yourself Nuke?;)
