Title: 2.25 fuel multiplier?
Post by: Echo on May 16, 2004, 07:37:34 PM
Man AHII is really comin alive now. 50 ppl in the arena when i was on. However, fuel mult was on 2.25, seems like i would just get to a good alt, and over an enemy base and i would have to turn around and head for home. HTC will this be set to MA norm soon? plz say yes. I'm not usually a whiner but this really killed the enjoyment of the night for me.  On a lighter note the E6B is the most handy thing in the world. would tell you time remaining, fuel remaining, gallons per hour, and range.  Even changing RPM reduced fuel consumption. Good on ya guys for implementing this. its great.

When HT was online this week end, he said this should avoid people running at Millitary power all the time, engine managment/fuel consumption will have to be dealt with from now on.

I actually used my throttle this weekend.

Well in that case i suppose i can live with it. Will definately take some getting used to.  I guess its a good idea, but i think they should set it depending on the map. for the big maps i hope they lower the mult a little.

Then he should please complete the chart on the e6B where it shows the different settings for each plane. G10 chart is missing for example

Just take a drop tank?  All that happens is you see much less of low fuel load planes.  I don't think they are going to be successful forcing people to alter their throttle settings (short of engine failure and that would be silly)

This is only 0.25 higher than MA default... can't be that much worse.

Gotta agree flying the La's I expect that the new fuel model will force better fuel management.......as it should.

It should also mean that endurance for endurance the weight penalties  on different AC will high light the benefits of different AC not seen in AH1..........

IMO 1.5 is high if the new settings were in place.........

IMO 2.00 would be OTT

but 2.25 is just silly IMO unless it has some advantage for beta testing.

We can still climb to 25k on half a DT in the 109G10 and cruise at 400mph for about 30 minutes. The 2.25 fuel burn will only force the Ponies and other long ranged/slow climbing planes to heavy up with more fuel. :D

I'm still waiting for the first suicide-fuel-porkers to arrive.
see what happens then.

I asked HT about this the other day and I don't recall exactly what he said in reply but the jist of it was they haven't decided what the burn rate will be yet when AH2 goes live.
