found this article on the web which compares the F4U-4 against other aircraft. Very good reading and some suprising stuff.

yepp, sounds true, after 1.05 especially I see even a larger amount of hogs. It's getting to the point where it starts to be boring since with most other planes you can outfly them but you cannot catch them unless very lucky. When I outfly them and catch them slow enough so they cannot accelerate immediately away, good hog pilot use rolls to evade gun solution and once they got nuff speed in dive, off they went. Most of my sorties seem to end being gang-banged by one or more hogs. Used to be annoying, now it's just boring ...

Yeah..seen that article before..shame that the author more or less completly ignores the P-47N (He mentions it in roll), which had higher topspeed, a lot longer range and more guns  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif).

Apples with cheese. Compare it to the P51-H. And the point it 'won' cause it could do carrier ops is bogus, it was designed to do that and the mustang not.

I'm guessing both our f4 variants are based on the f41 performance, even though the c has cannon?  No way our f4's climb at 4250 feet per min.

Hi

Nice article, who wrote it Vought Press Department? But seriously the 4 corsair is a great plane, however the article is extremly ra-ra-ra shish bum-ba cheerleadery, and the last comment about the 51 not having carrier ops is simply stupid. And anyway we all know F8 and SpitXIV or XXI would eat it alive. Tho its a better bomber than all 3. And lets not forget Sea Fury.
