To the best of my knowledge, AHII will be coming sooner than later. The CT will remain with the new engine, but the maps will need to be converted to AHII versions.
In the mean time while we wait for the new maps, the CT staff will try to maintain currently weekly setups. There may be a few bumps along the way, but as we get there with new maps and alike it may disrupt the arena. We ask for your patience during this time and look forward to serving you all in AHII!

Will the CT be down all together while waiting for a map Fork?
-
Couple of issues:
It'll take a few days to repost the CT arena after AHII release, so the CT will be unavailable for a couple of days after Aces High II comes out (from Pyro).
The maps: big question, but I'm not expecting a huge issue for this one. We already have a map team anxiously waiting for the new engine so we can redo the maps for AHII. Worse case scenario is that we may use a MA map for a week or two if no maps are available. I'm actually thinking the guys may convert a couple of maps when they put the CT back online. It's a wait and see...

I can't wait for AHII release soon and hopefully we get new Historical maps and also again new Historical skins for Aircrafts/Tanks/Ships.

Silly man.. you know they don't fly those in CT...
-
There real i thought they were a myth :rofl
-
So, let me get this straight. The CT will survive but it will be in the AHII format? If this is correct I will need an upgrade or new PC to continue flying. I cannot currently run AHII.
-
Yes, pangea. I'm in the same situation -- going to need a new computer for AHII.
What is it anyway with this computer stuff? You buy one and in 10 years it's out of date.

A question on Skins............. Will the skins guys come up with for squadrons be like the squadron patches in AH1 where everyone sees them? Or will only those people who choose to add the skins to their own program see them?
-
From what I can tell only skins officially approved by HTC will be placed on the server for all to see. But that shouldn't keep squadrons from sharing individual skins amongst themselves and everyone in the squadron being able to see them. I'm thinking the fewer skins HT oks the better, though. I'm not the only player that suffered a freeze frame when a new skin loads. (Why is it set up to load a freakin skin at the 1K range? Why can't we just load all the skins at once somewhere?)
-
What is up with the skin loading anyway? Last night Norad had 5 or 6 skins for the '51D and I had 3. I also had none for a 109 and he had a few. Do they have to reload everytime we log on? That will suck. On the other hand the skins will be great for the CTers. Whos working on a VF-27 skin for my Hellcat?:D
-
They download in the background, if you have not been in there long you wont have them all d/l'd yet. Once you get them you dont have to d/l them again though.
-
Good:aok
-
What I did was just leave myself logged into AHII and went to work. When I came back, I think I had all the skins downloaded.
BTW - if you are on dialup, it may take a while for all the skins to show up (weeks). Maybe it's time for some to upgrade your connection? :D
-
Thats exactly what I did Fork. There are a lot of skins already there to d/l too, 7 alone for the P51D. It also seems that every time you upgrade to a new beta version you have to re-download all the skins over again. I dont know why, but I know for a fact I have had to down load the same ones several times after I had them all. Maybe its a bug?
-
As previously stated, they need a seperate download for the skins. :D
-
And the default skin for the -1 is the only one you need, right Arlo? :)
-
Well .... sure .... but I wouldn't be upset to see some Blacksheep flyin around as well as them checkertail types. Healthy inter-service competition. :D
-
I might take a crack at a VMF-214 skin. Boyingtons famous "86" Lulabelle was not a plane that he ever flew, it was a prop for Public Relations use. I have photos of several of his and other 'Sheep's planes like Bourgeois, Bolt, and Magee. They are all plain with no names or graphics so they would be easy to do just doing a little "cut-n-paste" with the VF17 skin.
-
Lowe, you will see the skins that people choose. This is really nice. I flew in the beta a month ago. We were in three diffrent skined P-51Ds. It was really nice.
I hope Skuzzy will allow some of the CT squads to use thier skins. The Checkertails have thier P-51 skin. I hope that the F4U Checkerboard skinn will be approved as soon as HTC releases the 1024 skin for the Corsair. When I sent in my proposed skin, it was the only one I know of the was sent to skuzzy for production. Now they are flooding in.
Check out this thread. I was in the Checkerboard P-51 and Grits was in the Other one. http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=113905 (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=113905)

Still I am looking forward to see F4U-1A to CT, but I doubt that would happen and be nice for us(VF-17 :D).

I dont see why they wouldnt Hawk. Its an Historical skin, and I doubt very seriously that the F4U's will get to the max of 15 skins. For the MA skwads, its probably not that big a deal, but CT skwads that are Historical could all have their own skin. It would add a lot I think.

You guys need to prioratize. Finish the F6F VF-27 skin then you can play wiht your little F4U skins.:aok

Ask Geebo for VF-27 skins request and he probably would make it.

Yup, the VF27 'Cats are a great choice to do for an F6F skin even if there was not an active squadron here.
