I get an error when i try to run ah2 now about z-buffer biasing not working with my current video card, a gforce 4 ti200 running on dx9; is this card capable of running ah2 or am i looking at an upgrade?
any info helps, thx

oops nevermind, just saw skuzzy's reply to the last note.
-
sure enough, updated driver fixed problem. that skuzzy could make a living doing this stuff.
-
I think he does ;)
-
Hmm that's odd, I have the same video card and also updated the DirectX 9.0b.
But it still gives the Z-biasing error, maybe I haven't installed DirectX. 9b right?
-
Frank...the threads indicate you need to update your driver. Even though you have the same video card and DirectX 9, your video card driver can make a difference.
-
right its not the directx that is out of date its the video drivers. As long as you have DX9 your good there. I run a geforce 2TI card and had the same trouble, went to NVIDA found the drivers for my card, installed them and promptly got HOed in AH2 :)
Cya up !

I see, so I should go to the NVIDA website and update my driver, okay.
But how do I know which one I need?
(sorry for being a n00b, I know nothing about this all...)
-
nVidia just has one unified driver for geforce cards. It used to be called detonator but now it is called nForce. Go to nvidia.com -> drivers and put in GeForce and your type of windows.

I use this one in my Guam machine for XP-
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_41.09.html
WIN 98- http://www.nvidia.com/object/win9x_41.09.html
Skuzzy has said that the newer drivers don't work as well with the older Gforce 4 cards.

Dave, for AHII, you may need to update to a newer version of the drivers to insure support for DX9.
The 30.82 and 41.09 drivers were done before DX9 became available.

Ahh...I haven't tried AH2 on the Guam box, yet. Any suggestions for best Geforce driver?
The Cat 4.5s seem to work well for my 9800XT. Even the graphics in AH1 are crisper with this driver.
Thanks,
Dave

At this time I really dont have a good feel for it.
-

Now I know what a "hanging chad" feels like ! :lol

Hi frank,
Just execute the program you downloaded and everything will install. Then reboot and VOILA!
-
Well, like I expected, it still doesn't work.
I've downloaded and installed the patch Davenrino send me (for windows XP) followed the orders and rebooted the puter. But still it says I need to update my driver.
Is it the wrong patch for a GeForce card or something?
-
The latest driver for your card is at this link:
http://download.nvidia.com/Windows/56.72/56.72_winxp2k_english_whql.exe
Save it to your desktop then execute it to install and give it a whirl.
-
Be sure to remove the old driver first. Use the Add/Remove ICON in the control panel to remove the old driver. Then reboot and install the new one.
-
Well it worked allright, tnx a bunch guys, I have another reason to live thanks to you :)
Im not sure about the old driver....I don't think I removed it (or even know where to remove it or where it is) but it works fine!
-
Awesome! Congratulations...:D
-
My G4 TI 4200 gets best fps with the omega 45.23 driver but the 56.72 is also very good.

Frank3,
Sorry, I thought you would see Skuzzy's post above correcting my mistake. Skuzzy USED TO say the 41.09s were the latest that worked well on the Gforce 4s. That has changed with AH2. My Gforce4 4400 machine is in Guam and I haven't tried AH2 on it yet. Next time I get out there, I will have to update my video drivers.
