Bush: Blacks can't speak English.
NAACP leaders stunned by remarks of President.
In the presence of NAACP President Kweisi Mfume and other African-American leaders, President George Bush took aim at blacks who don't take responsibility for their economic status, blame police for incarcerations and teach their kids poor speaking habits.
Bush made his remarks at a Constitution Hall event in Washington Monday night commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Brown vs. Board of Education decision that paved the way for integrated schools, reported Richard Leiby in his Reliable Source column for the Washington Post.

Now tell me you had the same reaction when you learned who the speaker was.

That settles it....
Mazz is Andy Kaufman!

Is Kweisi Mfume related to Idjit R'Tard ?

CRANKSHAFT!

Bill Cosby made a similar statement, so if you're Bush, that makes him a racist, but it's ok when bill says it.

All comes down to point of reference. Some people have credibility and some don't. Cosby has a doctorate in education. Bush can't speak proper English. Of course Cosby will come out sounding better.
Are you suggesting that NO white person could have made the same point?

now, THAT'S a well baited hook...
:aok
IMO if Bush / Cosby / anyone said "Blacks are incapable of learning proper English," then yes, it's a racist statement. Fact is, most people don't speak English well, black or not. We just see more blacks that speak poorly because those of us (blacks) that do speak well aren't rap stars or athletes, and are far less visible to those whose main image of how black people talk is through the lens of what the media feeds everyone.
And no, IMO Bush is not racist. I actually like the guy (I'll like him more on November 3 when he's just my fellow American), and I don't demonize the man for his political beliefs.

Any white person could have made the same point. And be labeled a racist in about .5 seconds, NAAC would be marching outside his house and CNN would have Mfume on so he could publicly denounce the offending cracker.
