France: 'We Surrender Forever!'
Monday May 17, 2004
French President Jacques Chirac has announced a plan for France to surrender retroactively in all of history's previous wars, and to preemptively surrender to all potential enemies in future armed conflicts.
Members of the French legislature unanimously signed the new Declaration of Capitulation. It contains language that announces France's immediate and unconditional surrender in all past and future international disputes, regardless of the circumstances.
"This will save so much time and effort," announced Chirac at a press conference in Paris. "We as French people historically have always had the same solution when threatened -- to give up. By surrendering now, we can cut back on our unnecessary military expenditures. Because we always eventually surrender anyway, we have truly been wasting this money."
However, the decision to surrender is about much more than saving money. "It is really about who we are as a people," explains French government spokesman Guy Belacque.

Racism and xenophobia are often hide behind 'humor'. And i didn't see USA bashing lately as hard as you (i mean you by some USA posters) did on euro, france specialy.
You won't see this as 'humor' if you were the target of it, all the time.
[EDIT] By the way, i don't like Justin Timberlake (french humor, beurk)

I went through a phase where I was pissed at France and all things French but then I realized that France never did play any worthwhile role in my life so why bother.

Finally a fun thread, picking on France is always good stuff.
Q: Why are French tanks cheaper to build then any others?
A: Because the transmission only has to have a reverse gear!
:rofl
Pickinig on France? Do a search of French newspapers for anything good about the USA. Maybe, try and find anything in the French newspaper pointing out the good things happening in Iraq by the US troops. (its a long list, but convieniently ignored by many journalists)
I know, try and find a Paresian who treats a US citizen decently. It will be hard to find.
Now, go to the US and see how French citizens are treated, much differant (and better).

So u don't shoot at french people ??
-
Common guys... no fair picking on a country that can't defend themselves....:D
-
The usual mindless French bashing. No other country gets trashed on this forum more than France. It just makes you look stupid and xenophobic.
As for this
I know, try and find a Paresian who treats a US citizen decently. It will be hard to find.
Ah the Parisiens. The Parisiens treat everyone the same way, not just Americans. They are famously rude to everyone.
The original piece isn't even funny. Just a witless piece of bile.

Not to put a dark light on this post but Americans (like most others) pick on the french for good reason. That doesnt mean that we won't/havn't sacrifice(d) for injustice.

Hey Straffo...
French bashing is like teasing your brother. Doesn't mean you hate 'em.
La plupart des Américains apprennent de l'aide de Marquis De Lafayette et France pour aider avec la naissance de notre nation.
Hope my high school french doesn't suck too bad.
You also gave us a helova good real estate deal in 1801 (1802?).

Racism and xenophobia are often hide behind 'humor'.
What do you expect from a country run by a fascist chimpanzee who is controlled by Israel and Haliburton?
-
/\ Well that makes sense :)

That you should Straffo. It is a bit rediculous to pick on any country based on the politics of their leaders and the feelings of a few. Everytime I have been to France, I have been treated wonderfully, and made to feel at home. Well, with the exception of waiters. Anyways, what I am saying is that I like France, and will probably own a second home near Ex someday, but I will not be flying any Chirac posters or banners while I do!

I beg to differ. France has been at the butt end of too many not-so-funny jokes/quips, ever since the Iraq war debacle. One French guy quit this board and the game itself because he could not tolerate the xenophobic hate coming in his general direction.
I don't see what's good, or funny, about threads which lose customers for HTC.

Who quit?

Your French is fine Holden :)

Sorry, have to disagree.
When my wife and I went to Paris (and London for that matter) for vacation, we were treated very well by both the French and English people. Very warm and friendly. I have to admit that I went to Paris with the prejudice that "The French are very rude and stuck-up people." Also that the English food and restaurants would have nothing but bland food. I was pleasantly to have been wrong with that preconceived notion. We enjoyed our stay very much. We hope to go back to visit.

GRUNHERTZ i quit... Just wander here from time to time.

In France's defense, she had a very large and powerful empire at one time. I don't think we would've been making fun of the French military if we lived during the very late 1700's, for example.
She was also a critical ally during the American Revolution. U.S. history may have been written differently had France not assisted us with troops and a naval blockade against Cornwallis at Yorktown. It was the British surrender at Yorktown that sealed the success of the Revolution.
The Statue of Liberty was a dang nice gift from the French. It is one of the most important symbols of our nation today.
I have to admire a country that goes its own way and doesn't cowtow to us.
Finally, I have been told my nickname 'oboe' translates literally in French to 'high wood'. Now, how could I stay mad at a country that pays me a compliment like that??
;)
