I think by far the most annoying aspect of present (beta 33) game play is when my system (screen and sound)goes thru a mini freeze.............
This is particularly relevent when first firing guns in combat.......... during this split second you are disseminating data, as you take your shot, and make your next move, and trying to do this during a frame freeze adds an unexpected and very unwelcome aspect to gameplay.
In furball situations its worse and on some occasions these interruptions are measured in periods of more than a second.
During one of these longer interrupts it seemed that my stick in puts were still valid as I was able to pull out of a dive by re trimming during the interrupt. (I was close enough to the ground that js alone would not have been successfull)
The duration of interrupt does to lessen during the same flight but returns to full initial duration on the next flight. (but never as long as that sufferred during the first trigger pull of the session)
Similarly when in a GV I noted that a whilst under rocket attack from a P38 a similar stutter occurred as (presumably) the rockets were fired. Such that whilst firing and local impact were missed the residual smoke trials alone told me what had occurred. (i was firing from the pintle at the time)
When flying alone everything seems great except that a similar micro interrupt gives warning of another player entering the vicinity. Particularly relevent during vehicle play.
I would urge that QC works to totally eliminate this or at least advises us so we may enhance our systems to eliminate it.
I do not think my system spec is in any way so low as to expect it.
My game vid settings are set to max distance with size and detail set between 50% and 75%. Max FR is set to 60 and it stays pretty solid at 59.

Tilt, check to see if you have your sound card set to Full hardware acceleration. If so, then try setting it to 3/4 (Standard) acceleration and see what effect, if any, it has.

The link between firing and stutters/freezes is now gone.........
however unfortunately the link between such freezes and other ac has not...........
I was just in a dual over A4 with a 190 he was trying to out turn me (la5) at about 10K.....as spit zoomed by I sufferred a micro freeze.....i do not know where the spit went I was unable to see its direction of zoom........
As the fight (with the 190) got to the floor a yak and Ki61 began to close....as they did so serial micro freezes began to occur I was unable to do any thing other that watch and listen to a stacato engine sound and watch a world lit by a strobe light.
I ended up holding the controls steady hoping it would stop..........next I was back at the tower having been shot down

Beta 34
set the object loading slider to 1
set max detail to 256
Whilst I can discern (because I am looking) the occasional interupt it is now a lot smoother..........256 is acceptable for game play but 512 is better for GV stuff and refueling when you have more time to appreciate the eye candy.........

Same here...I fire...stutter. Another friendly is in view..stutter...con passes..stutter
I've stuck to buffs so far since between the warps, lag, stutter and painfully slow redraws...the only thing I can really cause havoc to is the ground :)
I have tried bringing the terrain load slider all the way to the left and the other tips posted here. My system is an AMD 2000 (1.66 ghz) w/ 512mb ram & GeForce 4 4600 fyi
