I'm getting crappier day by day in the new MA
my feeling now is that it is hard to get a kill and it is easier to get killed.
anyway my killratio is now under 0.30
i'm getting the feeling i pay 30 dollar to play target.
Greets from the most crappiest AH pilot

Dammit Bug, I am the crappiest pilot in AH!
I cannot hit the map it seems and have been shot down by everyone in an airplane.
I think I got shot by some guy in a C47 last night.
What is a kill ratio?
------------------
When did they put this thing in here and WTF is it for?
-
Bug, everyone goes through slumps. Shoulda seen me in tour 7. Couldn't do nothing right. Got killed 20 times for each assist (no kills lol).
Now I'm back to 3 assists for each time I get killed.
Seriously, relax and don't worry about it. Try flying buffs or a goon for awhile, or work with the ground vehicles. It's just a TEMPORARY slump.

Bug,
You re an excellent p38 pilot. The problem is that this arena is not well suited to your airplane of choice (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)
Unfortunately most ppl are dweebs and fly the easiest lane available, while people like U soldier on in your aircraft even though it is very difficult. <S>

Bug,
Part of the problem is that you ended up flying against a whole string of con missions. It's hard to beat 20 guys flying together especially when they're all in the same room coordinating their efforts.
The other part of the problem is that you kept running into the P-38's led by drex (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Erm.. no.
Flew against bug a couple of days ago. He engaged 2 of us co-alt and kept turning. Held us off for a bit then succumbed to my F4u-1d. I'd have to say that tactics played a tad bit more into it.

Erm.. I guess we insult most people to humor one?
How about checking his stats Zigrat. Take out his F4u-1C encounters and there isn't much of a statistical change. He's having problems against anything with cannons. It is because he allows way too many snapshots.
I'm not trying to dog ya Bug.. just that you need to start flying with a wingman if you are going to engage multiple bogeys. Also, the prevelance of ground vehicles makes cannons a more viable option in the air. Time to start considering that when going into an engagement. The guy you start tracking may not have cannons, but the next one in most likely will.

Whhen I say "dweeb" i mean pilots who hop around between the current latest and greatest planes. In this i include myself, as I used to like ot fly the 190 but do not anymore because it is not effective. My stats reflect this, as I have flown spits,f4us,and nikis predominantly lately.
The "non dweebs" are those who have one aircraft they love (or i will include in this a german, russian, japanese aircraft enthusiast) who stick with a particular aircraft type regardless of its currentviability in the MA.
Examples of this type of people would be people like Bug, Santa, Nath,Citabria, Leonid, Udie, Frenchy, F4UDOA, et all. They have stuck eith one aircraft type predominantly (excpet for missions etcera)regardless of its current effictiveness.
For example, tehre are many "new" tiffie pilots who never touched it b4 this new version. They flew the then greatest plane, but now that the then greatest plane is gone, they have moved onto teh "new" greatest. These are people like Duma, who always flew th tiffie even when it sucked, they are the true "non dweebs".
Clearly, I am a dweeb as well, I flew the a5 when it was good, and now i do not now that it sucks. Now i fly the C hog and the nik alot etcera.
Switching aircraft doesnt mean you are a dweeb, switching saircraft to the "latest and greatest" is dweeby. And there are alot of dweebs out there, like me, who make it hard for the non dweebs.
That is what i was saying.

Your definition of dweeby is yet another person calling a group of people dweebs. That needs to stop.

don't sweat it bug (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
I am very new to the AH community so I have never flown under the old Flight Model - but I do exclusivly fly the c.205 and am very familiar with getting shot down...Sometimes I will fly smart and get a kill - which calls for a quick victory dance - and other times any red dot represents someone I work with or someone in traffic and its just nice to let a couple hundred rounds loose on 'em - it is fun-if you need a hearty chuckle or ego reinforcement go check my stats! Its always nice to know there is someone worse than you out there (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Who did I flame Mino?
And.. just what is your contribution to this thread? You thought you sensed a flamewar so you showed? Or did you think Zigrat just needed a little moral support?

I know how you feel man . Hopefully we will get an arena with historically matched plane set soon . As it is now if you don't want to fly f4u1c or n1k2 you are restricted to the role of opportunist pilot .

Hi BUG.... <S>
I just noticed your thread and I thought I'd add a comment.
First, ranting on Channel 100 about HO Dweebs doesn't garner you a lot of help to improve. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
Second, I had the opportunity to engage you one on one last night. You were in your p38 at about 30k and coming on fast to a22. I was the HOG dweeb about 10k below you. You dove straight at me in a high speed frontal one o'clock HO, forcing me to "wing over" into a quick spiral to avoid your shot and I was able to gain separation by about 2.5-3.0k. Once again using the superior E of your altitude, you then followed me downward on my six, forcing me into a split-s to avoid your second shot. I was able to separate once more out to about 4k this time and was diving at about 45 degrees. I saw you out my six coming hard, so I decided to accelerate more (steeper) and try a low yo yo move to come up under your belly and perhaps get a tail shot. I was fortunate with the timing and as I pulled up hard out of the low right yo yo, I bagged your p38 elevator with a lucky short burst at about 450 distance. Of course, when the elevator fell off, the p38 becomes a spinning top and you bailed. The film makes for a great replay.
Suggestions:
1. After a high speed diving attack, never immediately follow an opponent down after he breaks. Pull up into a gentle high yo yo left or right and re-assess your SA and current 3D sight picture of the bad guys. Wing over and see what your primary target has done. Did he go defensive and show his six to you, or has he begun a low attacking ACM maneuver to come back at you? Did he call for help from a wingman or buddies close by?
2. If he's defensive, then convert the high yo yo into a lag roll pursuit, but be ready for him to do exactly the same thing again. If he does, you can bet this process will repeat itself until he runs out of air and the ground comes up fast. At that point, you will still have the E advantage and should be able to grind him down to almost a stall, yet still maintaining the E advantage by virtue of your series of high yo yo's. Of course, if he gets help from a wingman, than you should abandon the fight in favor of another day.
3. Always engage with one rule in the back of your mind. Fight on "My Time, My Terms, My Ground".
Hope this helps. From what I observed, you are an excellent virtual pilot, but it seemed to me you were very anxious for the "kill" and not wanting to be patient enough to wear me down a little more before going for the big move.
Just my opinion from someone who has had fresh recollection and film of a recent engagement. Good luck and if you'd ever like to practice some 1vs1 to sharpen your skills, I'd be happy to play towed target for you.
Regards,
Badger
