Hi all,
Was one of the first guys trying out AH2 Beta 34 yesterday afternoon and eve...
I logged off for dinner and got Mitsu's sound pack running again in AH2 (had deleted it 6 months ago due to failure to back up disk...LOL).
ANYHOW......logged on with the mitsu pack and my frame rates went to hell and a handbasket....running around over a base on a jabo raid my FR went to single digits!!!!
So I relogged...tried moving sliders etc...could not figure it out....
Then After a boot from a GV BUG...I recalled I had the MITSU PACK. I deleted it and reinstalled the old sounds (YAY BACKUP!):D
VOILA!!!! Frame rates back in the useable range for me...high 20's to 60's depending on environment Im flying in.
SOOOOO....I think that there may be some interference from the MITSU PACK....I am ticked cuz I love the thing but the frame rate issue is GIANT with me......Sound accelleration is at 3/4 buy the way if anyone says to bump it to 3/4;)
Take care...any thoughts on this...anyone else have this prob may wanna try deleting it!
REGARDS!!!!!!!!:)

I just loaded Mitsus sound pack for the first time into AHII beta, played offline noticed no FPS hit on my PC and i have a slow system..
AMD 3400 64bit
2 Gig RAM
RADION 9800 Pro
2 X 200 gigabyte hard drives
:)
One thing i ahve to say about Mitsus sound pack, its awsome, but Mitsu, can you do somthing with the Typhoon/Tempest running sound?? its a bit garish and hurts your ears, Either that or its my PC, other than that, WOW sure Beast the hell out of the origionsla sounds.
-
Hmm well maybe i will install it again and see how it goes.....very frustrated at the FR hit though...any thoughts as to why it does this?

Sorry forgot to ask....can you add only the specific sounds you want for planes? If so how do you do that. I can replace sounds for stall etc but dont want to mess anything up by putting a separate sound in a folder that shouldnt be there!

Agreed, I also don't like the P51 sounds. Just copy an engine sound that you like, I changed the typhoon and tempest sounds to that of the La7. Just copy and rename.
P51 sound I changed to is from another game. Have it posted at the BK website.
Note: if you notice with the 50 gunned planes there is three or four different gun sounds. They rotate through to the next sound every time you pull the trigger. If you find one you like you just delete the others so it sounds the same everytime you pull the trigger.
The typhoon gave me a headache.
Hope this helps.

Mitsu himself admits it's a collection of sounds, rather than something he created himself. So likewise, you can just take any sound you like and make up a 'soundpack' of your own.
In my case, I've edited and tweaked almost all of my sounds. God it's sounding awesome... :D
ps) Oops, went off track. Mitsu's doesn't give me any FPS hit too. Maybe you might want to try checking sound acceleration tabs on the DirectX diagnosis - performance problems associated to sounds, is usually because of the hardware acceleration settings.

same crappy FR for me

no FR drop here with mitsu's sounds copied over from AH1

OKKKKKK DOKIEEEEEE!
I reinstalled Mitsu's and it runs fine now.....very odd how my computer lagged in FR's last night...perhaps something was running in the Background....
I am now running EndItAll2 to get rid of programs in the background...I thought I was clean but apparently I was not....
Fork posted this link earlier and it DOES work on WIN XP PRO...
http://safsquad.com/files/EndItAll2.zip
Worked for me....fr's went up about 6 FPS due to stuff in background!
Regards.....

Just tested new link works fine now...just go to downloads and it is on the far right of the screen!

Remember too, that your soundcard can have a big effect on FR, especially when using the larger files. Some sound cards have very little CPU usage...while others take bigger hits.
My Nforce2 audio (the cystal whatever high end one), I see no significant FR hit.

I can not seem to find Mitsu sound pack today thru any search engine of links
Can anyone help me get a copy ? or direct me to a link where I can download it ?
Thank you
