IF ERROR (Initialization failed with-3 mainGR3D_FAILED-4)
Re-install DirectX 9B + Reboot (of course)
= SUCCESS !!!
-
make sticky = save headache :)
-
Skuzzy, why don't you make this a sticky!
-
Well Dingbat,..generally speaking, if you get the error you got and reinstalling DX9 corrected it, it would be more due to a corrupt installation from before.
Typically, it is not unusual to have to re-install a video card driver after updating DirectX, but the other way around is a mark of some registry problem.
-
but given the number of people reporting the error, wouldn't making this a sticky cut down on the number of reposts?
-
Most of the people having that error also have a video card that will not work in Aces High II.
It is a good thought, and I will keep it in the tech support toolbox for sure.

I was getting that ERROR message. Got my DX9 files all fixed and in order, but was still getting that error message. I right clicked on AH2 icon, selected properties, and clicked the last TAB. In here it has a option to run this program in 256 color. It was checked. Dont know why it was checked, I had just downloaded AH2 patch 40 the night before. I unchecked it and now it works.
