Agreed Calargy is so strong on their all lines.  Bolts have the two Frenchies.

Congrats Bolts.

No complaints from me - great series - only the 5th in NHL history to sport alternating wins.

The better team won - this was the East's year.

I say Tampa in 6 as well unless Bulin falls apart.

No, I like Lightning, with all that local talent and all, I can't get over all those NHL players that come out of Tampa.

What team in the NHL south of canada has local talent. This is professional sports not local high school crap, get over it.

Hey, I was admiring the local talent, nothing like hockey on the frozen swamp. Ahh, those days of outskating those gators. Used to stop on a dime and watch them slide into a tree, great fun:aok

Rumor has it that half of the Tampa fans showed up to the games just to see what frozen water looked like.  :D

PS:  Even though Six is a cranky old man who bleeds black and yellow, he has a point about 'local talent.'

He is only whineing about that because it is the only thing left for him to grasp onto. It is an idiotic thing to whine about as well. This is professional sports not high school. Hell, college dosnt even get local talent anymore.

Eight of the people I listed played for the Bruins at one time or another. I'm just making a point that Florida isn't exactly a hotbed for hockey, dear lord stop crying, if you can't take a ribbing you are in the wrong place.

Boston is SOOO loaded with local talent...

Gill and Donato.

Then there are:

15 Canadien born

2 Swedes

2 Czechs

2 Russians

give it time... Florida's youth programs are still young and are already starting to show signs of players with great talent... my bet is it is not long before they start playing in the NHL

Lol, try again

Kevin Stevens- Brockton, ma.
Tony Amonte- Higham, ma.
Jeremy Roenick- Boston, ma
Shawn McEachern- Waltham, ma.
Billy Guerin- Worcester, ma.
Bobby Carpenter- Beverly, ma.
Keith Tkachuk- Melrose, ma.
Scott Young- Clinton, ma.

Were you born in Tampa or something? How many NHL'ers come out of Tampa, and don't say Wade Boggs.

Eight of the players listed played for the B's at one time or another, and those 2 players are 2 more than Tampa will ever have.

I would like to agree, but up north ice skating usually starts at the age of 4. Hockey is different from others sports in that very rarely will a person introduced to ice skating and hockey in their early teens ever make it to the NHL. Especially in Canada, where it is tradition to get skates almost as soon as you can walk. And you don't make back yard skating rinks or skate on a frozen ponds in Florida. I could be wrong, but I just don't see it.

as for the players you just listed, are any playing for Boston now?  NO

Was I born in Florida, NO, actually from further north then you.  Started skating by two, was playing hockey from 4 till 22.  Pick up, adult leagues, and coaching after that.   How about you?

lol, so skating all summer at an indoor rink doesn't count....????  just because you live in a northern area does not make you "better" because you start skating on a pond.  The youth programs have kids as young as three participating, and when I coached "peewee" in Orlando, our program had a couple of two year olds skating at the mini-mites practices.

Oh yeah, frozen ponds, local rinks, we still play at Hockey Town on Rte1, although not as fast. And we still manage to get in games up at Mt Hood, you know, where ponds actually freeze?

lol, so skating all summer at an indoor rink doesn't count....????

Oh, I didn't realize Florida had so many indoor rinks

because you live in a northern area does not make you "better" because you start skating on a pond.

I don't know, the proof is in the pudding, where's your list of locals?

A couple, that's it?

give it time...

I know all about freezing, skated in the parks here most of the winter, and played a few pick up games over at Chapel Hills Mall, and one open tourney down at CC's arena.

4 arenas in Orlando area alone.  Probably more like 6 rinks though, because two have atleast two pads.  Melbourne has one, Lakeland... St Pete has atleast two.  Been awhile, but I can not remember all of them, but I do remember driving the kids to different games.

That list of locals is mostly in their early teens... rinks became popular only over the last 10 years.  Give it time.

One small program, and, I did not coach minimites... and that was two year olds.... I believe there was close two 60 kids nvolved in our mini-mite program, but can not be 100% sure.

This is a waste too continue... enjoy your summer... atleast you can watch Rolston in the World Hockey Tourney....

this is probably the best stanley cup final in years.  Well played and hard fought by both teams.

The best part is no Detroit or Colorado team anywhere to be seen :)
