Any of you guys have an electric smoker? I know charcoal types are better, but you can't beat electric devices for convenience and I won't use it a lot nor smoke large quantities.
My biggest concern is the lowest temp on electric smokers looks pretty high to me ...

We have one that we used alot a few years back. It really worked great and I wish we still used it even once in a while. I forget the make of it but it was black. LOL that helps dont it.
Anyways they require a bit of time and you need to watch them and the temp quite a bit.(as im sure you know) But the end result is well worth the effort. The smoker we have has two vents, one of top and one on the side to control draft. It works very well to control temps. Also there is a gage on the top and side.
Yeah I think its time to break it out again for the summer.

Off to the hardware store for a variable inline control Curly. Like the ones on an electric frying pan. Heck you could probably start a business modding those cookers and do real well. Problem solved!

The one I have uses propane. Never use it, uses too much propane.

Thanks, Toad! That's exactly the tip I needed.

Grainger's catalog probably has exactly what you need and it'll have proper connections and everything.
Saves all that wrapping with 6 rolls of electricians tape too!
Good luck!
