When I last checked in on the game there was lots of talk about the mission oriented aspect of the upcoming AH II TOD.  

Now it seems to be nearing release but there doesn't seem to be much talk about the new format , and the beta is just another MA.

What happened?

HTC have been concentrating on the actual new release itself - which is needed before they can begin to create the TOD arena.  Once AH2:Classic is fairly stable, they can then work on the TOD.  :)

IF the TOD is going to be just another arena, will there be AI aircraft to fill out the missions?

It seems like the TOD arena would be doomed to become another combat arena otherwise.

ToD has been pushed back to after the AH2 release.  

Yes, there will be AI.
