The following article discusses the effects gay marriage has had in Scandinavian countries where it has been legalized for a while now. Very thought provoking.

I've explained how I think the larger causal process works, but Badgett has ignored what I've said. I do not argue that gay marriage is the sole cause, or even the main cause, of parental cohabitation. It is one of several causes. Gay marriage is one part of a new stage of marital decline that contains three basic elements: parental cohabitation, legal equalization of marriage and cohabitation, and gay marriage. My claim is that these three factors are mutually reinforcing. When any of these three factors emerges, the others tend to follow. And they draw out the initial factors still further.
In a nutshell...he gave his gut feeling.
Well I think that the decline has nothing to do with gay marriage.Parallel evolution of lifestyle, maybe, but unrelated IMHO. After all, hetero- and homosexuals are 2 exclusive pools of the society regarding sex, living together and love relationships.

Having attended a catholic weding last weekend, and listened to all the "forever" crap, i see nothing wrong with decline of marriage as such. Apparently you are supposed to last thought everything, be it as simple as cheating all the way though alcoholism, abuse and mutulation. All in the name of love. Yeah, right.
My word, as a person, that I shall love my wife forever, is just as valid regardless of whether I say it in front of a priest in the church, or in the back seat of the car.
