Title: AH 11 is great - but it hurts my eyes
Post by: Redd on May 27, 2004, 07:17:41 AM: I've been spending quite a bit of time in AHii this month and none in Ah1.

I like just about everything about AH11 except it I just find it really hard on my eyes.

I'm not completely sure what it is but I find I am straining all the time to see the planes/scenery/colors/brightness - i just can't put my finger completely on what it is ( maybe its partly the sun glare also)

I find it it quite dark/gloomy to fly in.

I've tried different color/monitor and gamma settings . I use a reasonably new g90F monitor - flat screen 100 hz nice colors radeon 9600XT graphics card , 1280X 1024 AA X6

Last night after 3 weeks in ah11 going back to Ah1 felt really pleasant/easy on the eye.

Anyone come up with some settings they are really happy with - am I alone in this ? maybe I just have bad eyes

I really like having a couple of skin choic es for the hellcat though :) Looking forward to a few more.

tweaking gamma to lighten it, washes other details out.

easiest fix would be to use lighter ground/water tiles, especially water.

NOPE < I find my eyes are tired after about 15 minutes , I do not like the sun glare .

Make sure that your monitor refresh rate is above 75 hz at the resolution you're playing the game. I didn't know refresh rate changed if you changed resolution.

Post by: Chortle on May 27, 2004, 06:45:41 PM: I've the same problem as Redd, although my eyes dont actually hurt. Its wierd but everything just seems smaller...I'm hoping its just a question of adjusting the settings although I've messed with them a lot so far and no joy.

Trying to see planes against the ground as a backdrop is nearly impossible for me, hell maybe its just age.

Agree 100%, the water is especially dark.

new lighter terrain colors have fixed the problem - think I was just straining to see the planes before

running gamma at .9 in game - all looks good
