Title: Sun Glare
Post by: aSTAR on May 27, 2004, 05:08:16 PM
The Sun glare is too strong, hard to read Clip board & instruments
when flying into the sun, even in real life it is not as intense.
My 2c and sun shade useage:)

So which position in the sky do you consider the suns glare to be excessive?

All the time ?
At noon ?
Low on the horizon ?

Btw i disagree, but please be specific.

Yep,,,,flyin for 10 min into a bright sun filled white screen is quite
uncomfortable, hope it changes, I wont be able to continue doing that

Nope not really since you ask.

Do you mean whilst fighting if the sun is put to tactical use against you or do you mean if cruising and  level looking towards the sun its over done ?

Now the latter i would concede you have a point.

Yes, Im refering to cruising towards an enemy base, that just happens to be the same direction the sun is, when the sun is lower on the Horizon

Im sure i can plan my trips accordingly, but still seems a little big and bright

Hmm as i remember at certain times of the day a pilot does HAVE to allow for sun glare.  Sun rise and sunset are those times.

Glare can be a problem in real life.

Flyin into the sun at any time can be a problem in real life.

I have no problem with the sun settings in AHII myself.  Seems much more true to real life then AHI.

But that's my $.02 :)

Level flight towards the sun. BTW in RL it is not as intense, I am a retired pilot, and have had many flights into BIG SOL.
Nope , it is too bright in AHll.
Again my 2c worth with my thousands of hours of flight in RL.

It seems to me that the Effects of AH2 sunglare compared to Real Life Sunglare are very different. In AH2 the Glare effect washes everything out into a fog like effect. In real Life it is more confined/or directional than this.

Man, you must have some strong cornea.
