People born in 1985 are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.
Their lifetime has always included AIDS.
Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.
The CD was introduced the year they were born.
They have always had an answering machine.
They cannot fathom not having a remote control.
They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.
They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.
They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.
They do not care who shot J R. and have no idea who J. R. even is.
McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.
They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

We are talking the Challenger, not Columbia, and unless you have a hell of a memory for a 1 year old, I doubt you remember seeing it live. I do, on vacation with my folks in Florida.

my son was born in early 85, I think he was 11 months old when we lost the first shuttle.

Man that is SO true.
And they won’t know this either-
Two of my own additions, as I certainly couldn't even swim in a public pool for about 6 months without being scared shatless after seeing "Jaws" in 5th grade.
1. Who Evel Knievel was, and why 'The Stunt Cycle' was even BETTER than video games.
2. Sizzlers and a Fat Track for Christmas were better than “The Nextel Cup”, restrictor plate racing.
-
sizzlers and the fat-track where great. I had the figure-8 with the air-powered ramp you could lift to jump the intersection.
also had both the cars and the trike/choppers.
a friend's mother died a few years back and when cleaning out her house he found all of his old sizzlers boxed up complete with track. unfortunately the batteries in all the cars had turned to dust. so he couldn't run them.

Hehehe, Evil was teh greatest.
Would get to stay up late at nite to watch his jumps.
His "Ragdoll" landing was the best.
