Title: In Jail -
Post by: Creamo on January 31, 2000, 12:48:00 PM
Although unimportant, I found this interesting anyway. I was wondering how many people knew Aces High could lead you to tickets, fines, or God forbid jail!

 True story-
Last night after the Super Bowl (good game btw, and they FINALLY showed Kurt Warners’s wife below the neck, holy funbags batman) I settled in for a relaxing night of AH. No sense paying $3.50 a tap beer at a Las Gatos yuppie bar Super Bowl party and having to drive. So I’m home safe and sound playing it smart and having a blast. (Finally caught Hangtime too!:0) ) Lotsa good action, lotsa good fun.Quick side note btw, there is $30 saved in one night for anyone worried about the cost. Ok, on with the story...

Next thing I know, the cops crash through the front door like it’s a drug bust or something. I walk out and ask them what the hell their problem is. There is 2 dumbfounded police officers looking for a big super bowl bash and drunken teenagers. Of course it’s just me in my underwear, left turn signal swingin’,. They are really pissy and ask where all the noise is coming from so I pointed to the computer office. They go in like I’m hiding the Atlanta Olympic bomber, and low and behold, one very beautiful blue F4U-C is climbing out through 15K with that big O’ engine rumbling through the Cambridge Sound Works sub! I guess it was kinda loud, but sheesh, how bad could it have been? Anyway, I turned it down and they made a bunch of threats of fines and how I’m a bad person, yadda, yadda, yadda. Finally they leave. End of story. Well, until they came back! They were still standing outside the window and could still hear the blue beast, and me laughing over RW with Joemud, so I had to turn OFF the sub. Case closed, I was spared “Old Sparky” and a visit to the California prison system.

Unfortunatley, now the blue beast F4U sounds like a popcorn fart on a tin-foil covered picnic table. Now THAT, is a crime. Oh well, it will keep me out of the big house. :0)

So there ya have it, this AH community is turning me into a chute killin' public enemy #1 noise ordinance violator. Pretty damn fun too.

This usless information brought to you by Creamo and the letter "O"

My wife went out and bought me some headphones because the engine noise was driving her crazy!

I guess it did get loud since we live in a downtown loft with concrete floors.
I miss my Altec Lansing Subwoofer....  but the headphones are pretty good sounding..

I had the cops called on me when I lived in a apartment and played Doom (long ago) really load, I was told by the cops that they got a call that I was beating my girlfriend... heh  I used my home system for speakers then and I guess the 12inch Cerwin Vegas were a little too much!

I used to live in an apartment myself, for 3 years as a matter of fact. Thank God I now have my own house on 3 acres in the country. My Altec Lansing Sub gets plenty of use  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif). If the wife squeakes I just shut the door!! Muhahahaha!!!  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Did you ever tried to play AH with a pair of Genelec? Sometimes I play AH at the recording studio where I work (finally all these expensive gear is useful  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)), using a Yamaha 02R console, a pair of Genelec monitors, and a TC Electronics effect processor, and the result is amazing!!! Fortunately the room is isolated...

ROFLMAO!!  My wife squeaked, slammed the door to my office, came back and squeaked, slammed the door to my office, came back and squeak, and then went to BestBuy and brought back a Labtec headset with boom mic.....woohoo!  All is quiet, the wife walks by office and never squeakes(might give me the finger for being on the computer so long...hehe), never slams the door.......ah, life is good!  I do miss my woofer, but now I don't have to fear for my life......except in the air.....LOL!

Jeesus Creamo, cops there sound rough. At least where I live in Massachusetts the Gestapo have the decency to fire off a warning tear gas canister a couple of minutes before the door comes down.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

You guys think you have it bad ?

My fiancee is a profesional musician - she plays cello. She's a student in Juilliard in NYC. ( best music univeristy in the world for those of you who don't know what it is )

She practices about 6 hour a DAY. We live in an apartment building with two 60+ old ladies on each side. They have a habit of banging on the wall....  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
I'm still waiting for the police to show one of those days..

After years of playing in rock bands, I'm used to having the cops bang down the door. Now that I've got no upper/mid frequency hearing to speak of, and have sworn off surly bass players and flaky drummers, AH is my thrill and YOU BET YOUR bellybutton I know what Genelecs sound like, as I've two 1029A's with subwoofer run off a Mackie 1604-VLZ and it's louder than toejam.  My son plays Starcraft, and I've boosted the 80 Hz, so the explosions hit you like an alimony payment.  ARG!  For those of us who look back fondly on our youthful mayhem, but only now have the funds for serious gear, this is our finger, raised lovingly and high...

Surly Bass players?

I'm not sure but I think I'm supposed to be offended by that remark.  I just don't know why.
