2 racks of baby backs, a couple of ribeyes.. and burgers for the weak minded and children.

I'll probably ruin all but the ribeyes.. those are for me.

That's what I'm talkin about! I love the crunchy-thin, smoky-sweet coating. Getting that right without burning the meat is an artform. Always remember, "Fat facing the fire".

We hickory smoked 8 large briskets. Rubbed them down with a new rub my wife bought. Had to cook them in two shifts and finish them off in the oven. No, we didn't eat them all , they were for a church fund raiser for the kids. They did turn out good though, even if I do say so myself :). There was less than a half pound of it left.

I'm smokin two whole chickens again.  This time I'm gonna try the beer can up the butt method.  I heard that makes a tastey chicken.

Churrasco, marinated in a very special sauce since Saturday.  White rice, black beans or red beans for those that don't like the black beans, yuca in olive oil and onions or mashed potatos for those that don't like yuca, fried plantains, corn on the cob, collards and copious amounts of beer.  My mom was mixing pina coladas so I hope they show up early.

Have fun today all.

what happens to the paint on the beer can? I want to try it too so let us know how it turns out.

Nothing happens to the paint on the can, it doesn't get that hot.  Here is the correct way to do drunk chicken:

Take an empty beer can and cut the top out of it.  Fill it up with whatever you like, I usually use about 1/2 beer, 1/2 marinade.

Set the can on the grill and then put the chicken on the can.  When the chicken falls over, he is drunk and it is ready(when the leg tendons are finished cooking, they break, that is when it falls over).

Went to pry the best party I'd been to in several years. Not sure why it all work out so well. The weather was fantastic, the 600 was on, and the company was great.

Had lotsa meats.

What was really surprising is my wife had never tried alcohol before, so thought shots of tequila were a perfect drink to start with. The results were pretty evident.

I didn't offer her the shots Gun, that was her choice. Pry should have some Boonsfarm on hand though in case she gets a bad idea again.

Now for the Ribeyes and playoffs tonight, do it all over again. Gee, life is hard.

I tried that method and the chicken still was dry- plus I couldn't sit down for a week.

Shots are the best way. :) It's all those additives that hurt. Best to go with 100% agave.

LOL THE BEER CAN GOES IN THE CHICKEN'S BUTT....NOT YOURS LOL.

If you bird is seriously coming out dry try basting it every hour w/ beer or virgin olive oil.  That seems to do the trick w/ mine.  Its 4PM here and I got about an hour left.  Bird's at 168 degrees.

I assume you mean poignant.

Do you have to dig or what? I don't get it, or what it has to do with what's cooking.

Actually it was your suggestion - using virgin olive oil- that seemed to do the trick. The chicken is still dry, but at least now I can sit down while I eat it.

Thanks.

to your Uncle!

I'll toast a beer in his honor at my BBQ.

Creamo, thanks for the pic of your wife. She is a cuttie pie, but nonetheless has a very determined look on her face. Now I understand why you are the way you are on here sometimes. I strongly recommend taking back the leadership position at home sooner rather than later.

Nice stuff on the grill as well ;)

Have a great week all. I'm off to Brazil on Wednesday. Another weekend in Rio!

Nothing to do with cooking at all.  No dig intended at all. Yes, tired typing, I meant poignant.

Thanks for your kind thoughts Rogwar.

I think I got it right, finally. The bird was very moist, but it tasted like...

Ah, nevermind. It's too early in the week to give Skuzzy a headache.

In other words, I worked.

But I got home later and did 13 Strip Steaks on the Grill but had to do it under the porch cause it rained the whole time.

What in the F are you talking about rog? You understand me on a bbs because of a picture, and should recommend how I should live my home life?

Here's a recommendation.

Go F yourself. I’ll make a post about my weekend, and you post your perfect wife’s picture, and tell us all how you have a leadership role on her.

Sooner, rather than later.

Thanks in advance.
