Anyone else laugh at that film of the Saudi Commando's? Local boy scouts could extract out of a helicopter faster then that. And hopefully without one of them dropping his weapon.
One wonders how and yet to be accurate reported so many hostages died. And 4 of the commandos escaped. To me it stinks of corruption and a Poilitcal PR exercise to show the US and west that they are "on top of things" as far as terroists.
If they had been boys from Hereford doing that assault the terroists would of been killed in their sleep.

yea I saw that too.....Those guys ever hear of "fast ropin"?
It sure is alot "faster" than sitting on the edge of the loading ramp and "falling" off.

Roger that! Whether the tangos were sleeping or not would not have made a differerence. The boys from the Peak District are quite talented and well respected among the community worldwide :)
Having been on sandy ground once upon a time, the whole concept of Saudi commandos is like a contradiction in terms. It's a two class society in my first-hand opinion, fanatics or cowards. Well three classes actually, those rich enough not to care either way represent the 3rd. There are exceptions of course but those seemed to be rare at the time.

either way these guys seemed like 2nd rate operators....I'm glad I'm not in there shoes either way but at least I know how to fast rope

They were interviewing some 'Middle East Experts' on TV, who seemed pretty confident that the Saudi security forces had been infiltrated by Al-Q sympathisers who could have tipped off the terrorists before the rescue mission.

It's unlikely that anyone but the Officers were Saudi. That goes for their entire military.
The 'real' Saudi's collect oil revenues and 'contract' for everything else.
Is this a foundation for a Stable Government??
Oh Yea!!!

Yup I know a lot of guys that were stationed in saudi and almost all their "female" (IE flight attendent sectretary) type jobs are contracted to western woman. Saudi Arabia is a house of cards and its going to get ugly when it falls.
